to everyone at my work and my manager who apparently is jewish but has a latino last name was offended and said I should have been more sensitive and that this doesn't reflect well on me.  What the f*ck is wrong with people these days. Since when is Christmas a swear word?

They are idiots.  It's amazing how many people when you wish them Merry Christmas, either don't respond in kind or look around like someone is going to pounce on them.  I will say whatever I want, and if they don't like it, too bad.

Exactly.  8 or 9 out of 10 people you work with will be celebrating christmas (unless you work at a jewish deli) yet you cannot wish them Merry Christmas.  I once told my old VP who is a known christian "Merry Christmas" and his response was "Happy Holidays to you to".  Fucker.

Multiculturalism is killing America.  I'm not a huge Christian myself these days but I still respect and honor my country's history and our values.  So should everyone includiing aetheists.  It's part of calling yourself an American.

I am not pc about anything. At the work place however I have to be somewhat in control of my speech.
I generally wish people a merry xmas followed by happy chanaka as well. People wonder what is going on with this? This shit all started back in the late 60's with the move to tear down the christian values that this country was built on. I am no bible thumper by any means. However, this country was built by hard working mostly christian commoners.
It makes me sick to think that a christmas tree is no longer allowed in a school..........wtf!!!

Bush removed that separation 8 years ago yet it seems to have gotten worse.

schools are more or less government institutions, they are run with taxpayer money so you can't expect to have a Christmas tree in a school and have non christian taxpayers not have a problem with it.

Most taxpayers don't. The PC activists do. And fuck them.

"Separation" is a bastardized interpretation of the 1st Amendment anyway. It's not in the Constitution as such. The original interpretation meant to protect religion FROM government. Constitution intended (intends?) for states to decide.

Again, fuck them.

+1

BTW, I always laugh when I hear people are "offended" by a Christmas greeting. Pure BS. At the same time we are expected to accept all other religions with open arms, lol. Except Christianity, that is.

This taxpayer dollars  argument is soooo weak. Let's go word by word through the local school curriculum and take out words, phrases and concepts that "offend" people. Might as well toss our that concept of "free speech" while you are at it.

Totally agree, it is part of the reason why I like getbig. People can be totally polically incorrect and racist and still have a conversation with someone from a different race or culture.

This country wasn't built on Christian values or the religion . most of the founding fathers were deists and dismissed the holy trinity . Thomas Jefferson ( co-drafter of the Declaration of Independence ) re-wrote the New Testament omitting all the super natural aspects

keep your filthy religion out of public schools and public office , the founding fathers wanted it for a very good reason ...you're entitled to your own beliefs but keep them to yourselves  ;)

I don't get offended when people wish me a Merry Christmas they take the time and effort to be polite and I return the favor , same with when people say " God Bless you " after I sneeze they mean well

and Ronnie disagrees with you  ;)

I agree.  But the founding fathers were not atheists.  Like you said they were deists who believed in a "creator".  There is nothign wrong with saying the pledge of allegiance in school or having In god we trust on our money.  Nor is there anything wrong with having the ten commandments posted in public buildings.  That is not evangelicism which the fathers were staunch opponents of.

Any Christian of their worth would consider them ' atheists ' especially when they're denying the holy trinity but in the conventional term they weren't atheists

and there is plenty wrong with ANY endorsement of ANY religion , not just the Judeo-Christian one , in God we trust was never even on bank notes , what's next? in Ganesh we trust on the currency? where does it end? there is a move by the Christian right to inject their religion into America politics and way of life and it's wrong ...believe what you want , I fully support your right to believe in Jesus , Mary and God but when Christians are trying to dictate to the rest of us how we should live and what we can and can't do then we have a problem.

Not true. And just one thing to point out, if that wasn't true there would be no need to take the presidential oath with the Presidents hand on the bible.

"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Musselmen; and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

there it is in black & white , treaty of Tripoly the founding Father outright saying the Christian Religion had ZERO to do with the formation of the United States of America
