The Comeback Kid? Jay Cutler hires Hany Rambod!
« on: December 29, 2008, 01:35:41 PM »
In his attempt for Number Three, Jay Cutler is first turning to the number seven. As in fst-7, and trainer Hany Rambod.

"I felt I needed change," Cutler said. "I began training with Hany's 7s in the beginning of December. I want to emphasize my weaker bodyparts, and I felt since I was a volume trainer that the 7s would work best for me."

Cutler decided change was necessary a few weeks after finishing second to Dexter Jackson at the 2008 Olympia, where he came up short of capturing his third straight Olympia win. Now, Cutler is looking to improve on the 2006 version of his physique, when he toppled eight-time Mr. O Ronnie Coleman to nab his first Sandow.

"I feel great," Cutler said. "I am getting rounder, which is the goal. I'm in good shape anyway, but I look pretty full in areas where I am usually lacking."

Rambod, who has been instrumental in the development of Cutler's close friend Phil Heath, plans to work with Cutler a few times a month during what will be one of the most - if not the most - important offseason of Cutler's career as the two-time Mr. Olympia attempts to make history by becoming the first competitor to regain the Sandow after losing it.

"We're in the evaluating process right now, Jay will be coming up to see me in Northern California in the next few weeks," Rambod said. "He had seen so many of my guys use it and make improvements. I think seeing (Ed) Nunn's improvements from the USAs to the Nationals was the deciding factor for him."

Although it won't be routine partnership, Rambod sees Cutler and Heath training together on a more consistent basis leading up to the 2008 Olympia.

"I think (training together) is going to help them both," Rambod said. "I think it will push Phil to be better. He looks up to Jay, but now he knows he has a chance of beating him so it's a friendly rivalry. And I think Jay's at his best when chasing. We have to try to utilize that. With him being open to different training styles, that's a big step for Jay. I think it's going to take him to the next level. He's preparing farther ahead than he ever has."

that has about as much relevance as Kamali bragging about how he has made sooooo many improvements every year before competition.

take him to the next level? and WHAT would that be? He already has surpassed what not many has achieved before - 38+ inch waist at 3% bodyfat on stage, and a full 3 or 4 veins in his entire upper body.

he cant possible put on anymore mass

1- his biceps are two different sizes like softball vs baseballs
2- his left/right quad are way off
3- his lower back skin interferes extremely with definition even in contest condition
4- his waist is literally about as wide as his lats

maybe this "7's" training is just what jay has needed all along  ::)

FST-7 is basically 7 sets done with short rest intervals at the end of your workout, to get a good pump and "stretch the fascia". I'm sure Jay's real exited about what this revolutionary training system can do for his body.

WOW.

I am no big fan of Jay's physique, but at the night show he was the clear winner. What ever he did in the 24 hours from the prejudging he needs to repeat and that's all. Like I had mentioned in another post he weighed in at 242 for the night show. As far as I'm concerned he looks great at that weight.

Have you tried the DD-Dozens training system yet? Don't knock it until you've tried it.

7 sets of what? Like I said, why not 6 or 8? Is 7 the magical number?

I think it would be freaking wild if Jay came back and kicked ass at the O this year.  If his physique merrited it I think him winning the title back after everyone said he was done would help the sport.  I mean imagine a guy who is second forever finally knocks out the champ Ronnie to only barely win the following year in a controversial victory.  Then Dex comes in and takes the title away from Jay with Jay finishing second.  Some don't think Jay should have been in the top 3 or 4.  Only to go back to the drawing board with a new guru who tweaks his physique to get him as close as he was to 2001 (by far his best yet) and win the O in 2009 just barely beating out his friend Phil and Victor by a couple points.  Imagine the hype for the 2010 if that happened!!!

7 sets of 10 for your last exercise of a bodypart. Weight stays the same for each set. 30 seconds rest between each set. (31-35 seconds will not work...)
