The people have spoken.  We would like a high-quality protein 'shot' that would come in at under 4 fl ounces and deliver 35 grams of protein.

1) add 1 1/2 scoops optimum nutrition whey protein (or whatever type/combination of high quality protein powder you want) to a 6 oz shot container
2) add 4 oz water when ready to drink
3) shake
4) drink

cost: about 40 cents

what difference do you think taking a shot of 35 grams of protein do to your body vs not taking a shot of 35 grams of protein?

i tell you

NOTHING.

you will have EXACTLY the same physique 1 year, 5 years or 10 years later.

wrong, taking that shot will definitely help you to gain adipose tissue.  this site is called getbig, not getmuscular.  Super you need to getwiththeprogram.

I'm really not following so disregard if im missing something, but this very product is already out from about 7 brands offering the same thing in a 3oz sized flavored shot ranging from 26-45g protein. Usually whey/whey hydrolysate.  Been so for going on 3 years now.

They should make sure it's formulated for lactose intolerant people and with no aspartame.

TBOMBZ, the guy lied.He never bought the protein, and made my company look bad.TBOMBz, are you involved with trueprotein.com? The reason I am asking is because its says 5% discount on your avatar. If you are involved with them why are you messing with me? Dante is a great guy, and runs a great company. We have done buissness together in the past.I know some of the guys over at trueprotein, Chris the office mangaer, and Carl the plant manager, are both really cool .Dante and I arent really good friends or anything but we do buissness together, and we have alot of repsect for one another. So if your going to put trueprotein discount 5% and bash me, please chill out.I dont think Dante would like you messing with one of his allies in the industry. My company is just like trueprotein.com, we arent the biggest, but we make highend products. In this industry you either put the money into making a really good product or put tons of moneyinto marketing, Muscletech,BSN,Optimum,VPX,etc etc.

John Dilauro/ExtremeLabs is known in the industry as a good guy, a man of his word and has the reputation of someone whoabsolutely refuses to cut corners with his products (alot of you might just read by that last part of the statement in haste but if you really look at it...it has a bigtime meaning).....want to get rich in the supplement industry? Spend all your money on marketing and buy cheap ingredients for your products. Sadly that is a road a major amount of supplement companies choose to go down. Let me give you an example....a while back a protein distributor/dairy was offering whey protein concentrate for 99 cents a pound to everyone. We tested it and it came back at the lowest protein percentage Ive ever tested a protein out at. We told that company to beat it. I know John Dilauro did the same as he surely doesnt have it in his products. I respect that greatly. But two widely known (and probably many more) companies did buy up warehouse loads of that sawdust and sold it left and right for 4-5 bucks a pound and made money hand over fist while you guys got upset stomachs and they got mega rich.

How do they sleep at night? Very good question.

240 i only can think of 4 proteins that could liquify in the 4 ounces of fluid as you ask. Various proteins that are derived from a gel as John has stated, some good and some that are awful, some incomplete proteins...and maybe (maybe) PeptoPro but thats 28 bucks a pound so that counts that out. With a high quality whey isolate you would have to tweak it so greatly (agglomeration and instantization) which creates its wettability, sinkability, dispersibility and solubility that you might just ruin the powders properties to get it to disperse in that small amount of liquid. The actual process of manufacturing a whey into such a small liquid form might make the cost skyrocket also.

This is probably a stupid question but why isn't someone making/marketing measured whole food for bodybuilders? Companies are bending over backwards to exploit fatasses and we're being left out.

there are a lot more fatasses than bodybuillders.  and Bber are typically more shrewd with bullshit, scams, and ripoffs than Joe Sixpack or Susie Frumpy.

Thats not a stupid question at all and I agree...its a worthy and admirable endeavor.....but in todays society where time is of the essence (fastfood), families no longer sit down around the table to eat, and the latest dieting aid or fad makes gobs of money for companies.....is there a supplement company out there that is willing to take the risk of spending that much money on R&D only to have said product go bellyup. Because most likely it is going to go bellyup as bodybuilding is a niche sport. My dream is and has been to understand that people are always on the run and make a chain of restraurants that has healthy faire....that they can still drive thru and be on their merry way. But I know it would never succeed because of a number of factors (price for healthy ingredients, gluttony and selfishness of the average person out there and again the "niche" factor)........a number of years ago I made chocolate whey protein crisps inhouse at TP---it tasted like Count chocula.....a cereal for bodybuilders but I couldnt get the cost close to Kellogg's and Post etc......and I just dont think the bbing community is going to rally around an idea like that to get it to take off. Justin Harris and I are in cahoots on a fat burning Crystal Light like powder for bbers and some other ventures but again is the bbing community going to support those ideas or will they just flame out......thats the question.

My idea is simpler... add ultra-filtered protein to beer. :)

Jenny Craig, Hourglass, etc... make healthy pre-packaged meals. Some motivated geek could probably do meals with 50g protein and the right components for bodybuilders or 'hardgainers'. The limiting factor would be cost because shakes are just much cheaper.

Fat people are probably a much more lucrative market.

just eat more eggs, chicken, tuna and enough with the useless "protein" powders already.

the only suplement that works is creatine, and it's all water retention.

Dante is totally correct on this. All the big suppllement companies do very little research, all there energy aswell as money  is on packing, marketing, and advertising. They make products that are really cheap to make, for instance a bottle of Cell Tech costs at most $4-$5 to make .They put in this flashy eye catching packing, then market the living sh$%$ out of it.Another product by MuscleTech, Halo, claims to have over 75 ingredidents in each bottle. If you have ever done any type of blending you would know if you blended 75 ingredients together 1) if would look like god only knows 2) if would taste like ass.So either there putting in tiny tiny amount of each thing in each product, not using all that material, or masking the flavor with sucrose aka sugar. It is very hard to make "real raw materials taste good".If you ever tasted Pyruvate its horrible,AKG is worse,Caffiene is the worst,Alpha Lapoic Acid, burns,Arginine is to bad,L-Noravline is bland,Potasium Citrate is super sour, Amino Acids like L-Glutamine, are pretty much just bland.
Dante is correct in everything he stated. In this industry either you make a really good product, or you make hype produicts and market the hell out of them.I know if Dante wanted to he too could cut corners like alot of the bigger companies, make crap products, and market the hell out of them.Dante is a real athlete, like myself, he practices what he preaches, and he is a man who is honest, who has integrity like myself.I dont know how some of the people who own some of the companies even sleep at night. They create false names for raw materials, like Creatine Ethyl Ester Malate, or Creatine Taurinate. To make matrters worse, they make outrageous claims like gain 30 lbs in 6 weeks, or works 500 % better then any other form of creatine. Some of these statements are just straight out lies. You cant even put on 30lbs most of the time using steroids, so there is no way a natural supplement would create this type of muscle gain.
With supplements, if it sounds to good to be true it probalby is.If your looking for good products dont always go for the bigger companies, because most of the time, they are the ones that have to make the most profit to cover all there marketing expenses. Most of these companies have to make 300- 500 % prfit to cover all there advertising costs.I am going to be totally honest here, most of the time my company only makes 30-50% profit on each item.I am sure Dante will tell you the same thing. If you use really good raw materials, you profit margine are really low.But you can only charge so much for each product otherwise you will price yourself right out of your market.People will only pay so much for protein.Plus you got companies like Body Fotress, who sell there crap really cheap to WalMart, so now people think Whey Protein is cheap.Little do they know that the protein they are buying will never make label claim, never !!!!!!!!.I might even run over to Walmart  and purchase one of those bottles of Body Fortress protein and have it lab assayed at Miller Labs and independent lab in Utah, just for fun. Then post the lab analsyis on Getbig, lol.Do you think I guys should?????? lol.Trust me you wouldnt want to know the results, lol.
If you want to buy a good protein there are alot of good manufactures out there. There is trueprotein.com which is one of the best, plus they do custom blednding which is a dream come true. Then you have AST, Bio-Plex, Beverly International,Isopure, and Labrada, just to name a few.If you also looking for a good waxey Maze starch there are only 2 good companies I know of.You have trueprotein.com, and Veolcity by Professional supplements. The rest are pretty much crap.Alot of these companies are using cornstarch, or god knows what.Real Waxey Maze Starch. works amazing but its not cheap.

Remember one key fact.

Supplement manufacturers dont have to list the percentages of what goes into their products on the label but they MUST list the ingredients in order of the highest percentages.

So if you see something like this

Ingredients: Collagenic Isolate, Crossflow Whey Isolate, Calcium Casienate,

guess what that could mean.....

99% Collagenic Isolate
.05% Crossflow
.05% Calcium Casienate

good luck

You got to love good ole Collagenic Protein, lol.Nothing like protein from the remains of a animal.THis means the skin, bones ,tendons hooves,Anus etc etc. They take all the crap left over from the animal and stick in large baths until it turns into a liquid. Then they usually turn itno a powder and sell it to companies for skin care, protein powder, or joint products. Its also called Gelatin protein. It DOES NOTHING FOR BODYBUILDING!!!! IT DOESNT REPAIR MUSCLE, IT DOESNT HELP WITH RECOVERY ITS CHEAP PROTEIN.Its practical uses is it can help with joint health, and new studies have shown it can help will nourishing the skin( which I doubt ).ANY COMPANY THAT USES THIS STUFF IN A PROTEIN SUPPPELEMENT IS RIPPING YOU OFF.IT IS THE CHEAPEST FORM OF PROTEIN AVIALBLE, AND YOU MIGHT ASWELL STICK YOUR MONEY IN A PAER SHREDDER.I am not one to bash but reputable companies like trueprotein and my company wont use this shit, and refuse to even blend it for other companies.I wont even let the shit 100 yards from my werehouse.I been asked to blend it by other companies and I told them to take there buissness elsewhere.
It really angers me that some companies have the nerve to call there products Whey Protein shots, when actually they are Collagen shots, no pun intended.Telling someone that they are buying Whey protein and selling them Collgen Protein is like paying for a BMW and getting a Hyundai. Its deception at its best. They should be forced to change the name of the product, and not decieve the public.Scum bags.!!!!!!!!

Collagen is the shit.

I personally put on 40 pounds of lean muscle using that stuff back in the day when weider put that shit in their products.

These days, its very hard to find, i have to go through tons of Cold Cross-Flow Ultra Filtered whey, Whey Protein Isolate, Calcium Caseinate, Soy Protein Isolate etc to find the stuff.

I give it 5 thumbs up.
