would the soda tax be on "sports beverages" and "energy drinks" that also are made up mostly of just high fructose cor syrup (or in the case of 'sports drinks' = sucrose (same as high fructose corn syrup) ) ?

Last time I checked this was America and we could eat and drink what we want without penalty. When I have kids I will not allow them to drink a lot of soda and eat a ton of junk. But that is my job not the governments. Amazing how people want to give up our freedoms.
