Freddie Roach Predicts Andrei Arlovski Will KO Fedor Emelianenko

MMAWeekly has an interview with Freddie Roach about his thoughts on the Andrei Arlovski and Fedor Emelianenko fight:

"As far as his stand up game, we’ll kill him," says Roach. "If we can keep the fight standing up, if he chooses to fight us like a man, we’ll dominate him."

"From what I can see, I think Andrei’s going to be sharper," he says. "I think we’re going to knock him out."

About Fedor's looks:

"If I saw him in the street, I wouldn’t be scared of him," he says with another smile. "But I’d be wrong."

On how to use Fedor's habits against him:

"Just be smart with it," he says. "Use your angles when they’re necessary, but after you land a combination, because after you land a combination with Fedor, he’s going to throw back. That’s his instinct. He throws one punch after the other. He’s very predictable. He makes the same moves every time. He’s very common. His boxing game is weak."

It is also interesting to mention Arlovski's sparring parnter:

Arlovski tells Freddie he’ll be back in six hours for sparring, when UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is supposed to show up.

Old days Arlovski was a sharp striker.  This could be a possiblity.  How his chin holds up is a different question.

that's what I am worried about for him. We all saw how Fedor hit Timmy.. Arlo hit timmy to and didn't do that.. Tim did say that Fedor hit harder then anyone he has ever fought.. You can train all day, but you can't buy/train a chin!

I think there's a big hub bub about this fight solely based on the fact that Arlovski is the last remaining face that can carry the UFC standards to the guy that everyone thinks is the best,it seems to me that affliction is pretty depleted of talent in comparison so this is it's next to last big fight,the last being a match up between Josh and Fedor.....

my fear is that Fedor won't sign with the UFC and in five years we'll all sit around and look back at Fedors career with a shit load of "what if's" in the subject line of our threads about him...

Outside of fighting a sideshow freak like Bob Sapp, Fedor has nobody to fight after this unless he goes to the UFC. Even in the UFC, the only two fighters anyone would care to see him fight are Mir and Lesnar ( and maybe Congo, though I think that fight would be over in 20 seconds). I think it is inevitable that he ends up in the UFC or some cross promotional event takes hold.

With regard to Arlovski knocking him out, no fucking shot in hell that happens. I think Arlovski will hold his own and even possibly take the fight to a decision, but unless Fedor totally tanks the fight and doesnt prepare, there is about as much chance he'll get ko'd as Brock Lesnar storming the ring mid fight with Hulk Hogan and tagging Fedor with a steel chair.

well, like someone said in this thread, even if Fedor went to UFC, he has like 2 or 3 'good' oponents there...after he beats them, what else would left for him?
