What happened to all the people prior to Nov 08 touting Palin as the face of the new GOP?  The "breath of fresh air"?

Are they now no longer saying she is the future of the party?  Bwahahahahaaa

The GOP is done for a long time.

Too early to say.  Lot of variables:  the economy, war, performance of Congress, Obama's performance, etc.  Could be a very short ride for Democrats.  But Republicans do need a leader and a message.

I see a lot of repubs saying Palin is the future of the party, she's gonna win in 2012, etc.

I don't get it.

She's a walking punchline to 60% of voters - polls showed 60% didn't even think she was ready to be veep, much less president.

Aside from that - there are MUCH smarter people who could do that job.  I"m not talking about jindal, who has no experience.  I'm not talking about fred thompson, who looks great in a suit on TV, but doesn't know much bout nothin.

You repubs seem to have neglected choosing the 'best' candidate, and instead leaned towrd the guy with the most excitement, potential, tv buzz, etc.  palin was great for ratings, but i think EVERYYYYYYYYYY ONE here will agree a Newt or jeb would have been FAR FAR FAR more prepared to handle any big crisises, right?

Stop falling for the gleam of "ah, she's a regular hockey mom" and instead, choose the smartest, shrewdest, experienced MFer for the job.  Seriously.  You can argue maybe sh'es qualified, maybe not - but you know damn well she's not the caliber of ten or 15 top guys/gals who SHOULD have been on the ticket.

Palin is fine.  She'll be a player in 2012.  She may or may not be a frontrunner, but she is part of the future of the Republican party.

I predict she will not be a player and may not even be in politics in 2012

I normally have voted for GOP candidates, but seriously, they are all horrible.

I am more like a Goldwater Republican and what we have now is disgrace.

I have voted for Democrats and Republicans.  I've been down on the Democrat party for several years now.  They're awful.  I think the Republican party has taken a turn for the worst too.  No leader.  No message.  No backbone (in the bailout mess).
