Anyone traveled to Vegas yet this year?

I was about to book at New York/New York when I noticed the following:

Effective 1/1/09, NYNY will institute a daily phone fee. A mandatory charge of $3.00 per room, per day will be collected from all guests upon individual arrival for unlimited local and toll free calls, use of calling cards, and collect calls.

I know times are tough on the Strip right now, but I'd rather they simply charged me $3 more for the room and not tell me that it was some bullshit fee. 

People are still going to come to Vegas, but they really need to re-think their position on this one.

Shit, a ton, but I've sorta got, um, 'reasons' for wanting to stay at NYNY this trip.

Nah, I'm still going to Vegas, no matter what.  I spent 30 nights there last year.  But, I don't like hotels that have stupid add-ons like that.  When I was at the Green Valley Ranch Resort a couple of weeks ago, they hit me up for a $25/day 'resort fee'.  A resort fee...in the dead of winter!  The hotel was really nice, though, so I didn't complain, but still. 

The Orleans had such a fee this year during the Olympia, too. 

So, the Orleans sold out, too?  I guess I should've expected as much from anyone in bed with AMI.
