Any other pescatarians in the house?
« on: January 10, 2009, 12:54:17 PM »
A few weeks back i had a long talk about the meat industry with my buddy who is finishing up his doctorate in chemistry.  His eventual point was that unless you're buying free range cattle and beef, you're essentially putting poison in your body.  I've switched to just open water (not farmed) fish as my main meat source, and I feel better.  All the hormones and crap that go into foster farms or harrah's beef are just not meant to be in your body (although they are delicious).  My beard is shinier, digestion is better, sleeping a bit better, nails and skin seem more hydrated, lost some body fat, feeling good afterworkouts... they downside is the expense   Anyone else going this route?

I'm not real into seafood but I like to catch and eat my fish myself.  Nothing like eating some trout that was alive 2hrs ago.

It's expensive.

ditto.  Only raw natural I eat are mixed nuts.  Price is the same as oiled up shit.  But with veggies, fruits, and meat that shit is sky high.  doesn't make sense really.  The only thing I can think of is they are smaller operations than the major companies like Tyson and need to charge more to stay in business.  IDK.

We buy all of our meats and dairy from a local farm.  I definately notice a difference in how I feel.

Those of us manly enough to grow winter beards want them as bold, shiny, and gregarious as possible.

The only seafood I see on a weekly basis is pictures of stanking mudsharks people post on this site.
