Gustavo Badell decides to skip the Ironman Pro

Gustavo Badell, is sitting out the 2009 Ironman Pro on January 23-25. But not for any reasons one might think. No, Badell is out because he and his wife are due for a new addition to their family. “I got the news that my wife was pregnant late last year,” the soon to be father of three said.

Badell, who had planned to enter the show, realized that doing so would limit any time he could spend with his family. “Usually, November and December are the months I usually devote to them” he said. “ But I’d have to focus 100 percent on training and diet and that would leave no time for family. So it came down to the show and my family, and like always, family won.” Badell and his wife Jessica expect their new son (yes, son!) in May.

they don't have one big name now. It was dumb to have it so soon. They should do it after the Arnold. All the guy that are peaking for the Arnold would jump in that show after

Badell missed a great way to qualify for the 2009 Olympia, which will be one of the best Olympias yet, with 2008 winner Dexter Jackson rumored not even to make the top three (if Victor Martinez, Phil Heath and Jay Cutler have anything to say about it).

Question - will Badell compete at the Arnold Classic in where he is slayed to compete too?

Was he not ready for this show?
Or was family a factor (I think his wife is expecting a baby)

Either way... too bad... but never the less, a good lineup is emerging.
