I would like to declare that 2008 overall and 90kg champion (Ali Tabrizi) has been tested positive ((and banned for life) as well as many other bodybuilders that has been tested positive. We are waiting for the IFBB to post the final doping test results on there website.

But regarding Ali tabrizi we are 100% sure about his situation because bodybuilders and officials from Qatar bodybuilding federation confirmed that Ali Tabrizi has been tested positive and they stopped him from competing in Qatar international championship.

thats a disgrace - taking away his livelyhood when everyone on that stage was on the same stuff

he should just move to europe or america, and compete there.

he looks fantastic and has a big future in the sport.

The hypocrisy in the IFBB is unreal!!!!!!!!!!!!

The late Ben Weider implemented drug testing in the hope that bodybuilding could one day enter the Olympic games. Clearly, that is never going to happen, so they need to forget about the drug testing as they have with all IFBB shows?

The IFBB out of the United States is an amatuer organization and if you are competing for a country, you better not be tested positive. Simple as that.

The IFBB Professional League is a different entity.

many others have been banned from the amateur IFBB for testing positive for PEDs, yet were given pro cards. (Tamer El Shahat, Manfred Petautschnig, Sergei Tskounkov, Milazzo Migger)

others have been denied the opportunity to compete as a pro because they pissed off a local chairman (Sami)

here's an interesting example:

Arturo Castañeda was DQed from the World Amateur Championships in 2000, 2003, and 2005, yet competed last year in both the Arnold Amateur and the Elite Tour

Shameen Adams was DQed in 2001, 2003 and 2006, yet competed as an amateur in the Worlds in 2008

too bad the IFBB is not a federation of athletes, where the athletes get to vote on who represents them at the local, national and international levels. if the chairmen and executives had to answer to the athletes, they might not jerk them around so much.

Thanks to Ron and Tim. I undertsand it better now.

I should have already understood it since I won the Overall at the IFBB Zimbabwe and could have (should have) applied for my IFBB card (like Ntuk Ntuk did in Nigeria).

But it still makes the IFBB rules are total farce? Let's see... "Ali Tabrizi? We are banning you for life in the IFBB amatuer ranks ... but CONGRATS! Here is your Pro card!!!!!"

You should read the Pro Division rule book sometime Grant.

It would confuse you even more.

There are virtually the same kind of anti-doping rules there as in the amateur IFBB from what I recall.

Also, from what I understand, Ben Weider signed an agreement a few years back with Dick Pound of the WADA for full cooperation. Meaning WADA gets to test any IFBB member - anytime, anywhere. Even in their homes.

I could be wrong though.
