Congratulations USA
« on: January 20, 2009, 07:21:28 AM »
I'm watching the inauguration as I write this, and this is what USA is all about.

USA is pretty fcuking amazing.

And Barack Obama might just be a guy who's got the goods to be the real deal, a real fcuking president.

The initiative in science and international politics has shifted from USA to Europe and Asia over the last few years.

I think that can all change back with a guy like Obama.

He seems poised in revamping the US society.

That could leave Europe, struggling.

Then again, he could be all talk.

But there's something the man.

He's got a great shot to fix it. We'll see what he can do. If he gets us out of these wars and gets this country back on track, then I could see good things happening. I didn't vote for him but I am pulling for him to succeed.

What is cool is that every 4 or 8 years we have a peaceful transfer of power.

This is a great point that many take for granted.

It's a great day.  Another orderly, transfer of power.  The democratic process worked, flaws and all.  I am praying for our new president and hope he is successful.

Right now we need to re-concentrate our efforts for America.  Part of that is furthering international relations, but it must be in the interest of this country.  Some on the far left think the UN and international law/politics is more important than domestic.  We need Obama to help the U.S. and contribute internationally a far second.  We have a real possibility of the US being passed by several countries in the next few decades unless we change course.

I have to say i am surprised with many people on this board regarding their attitudes to Obama even though they were very much opposed to him when he ran.  Its nice to know people believe in our democratic process.  I wonder if we'd be hearing the same thing from the other side if it was McCain.

PS:  I'm not surprised "you" said this BB. Just noting some of the many things I've read on the board from others.

Thanks.   :)

We already know how liberals would have reacted had McCain won.  Just look at what they did with Bush.

Hard to argue that.

The only consideration is that BUSH was hated to begin with because of actions as president versus, Obama with no record as president and given the situation we are in as we should all be pulling together.  Never the less the point is well made in many instances.
