Not sure...I didn't really watch a lot of the Andy Griffith Show because I thought he was mean.   Nothing at all like our Andy Griffin  ;D



I think I heard when Aunt Bee died they found her house to be a wreck and tons of cats were living there.  Not sure if that's true though.

Actually, a couple other women in Mayberry did that, usually integral to the plot of the episode.

*blush*  I have heard that, in spite of the great guy he portrays, the real Andy Griffith is a complete jerk.  My granddad, whenever he sees Andy Griffith on TV, yells, "That's the meanest G-- damn man that ever lived!!!"  I once asked him why.  The reason my granddad says this is that some old fool he drinks beer with swears that Andy Griffith cheated him on some business deal fifty years ago...of course, this same old fool also swears that Elvis Presley stole one of his guitars.


It is true about Frances Bavier living in squalor.  She was also mean as a snake.  She and Andy couldn't stand one another.  Possibly only in the case of Vivian Vance and William Frawley has there been such animosity between actors on the same show.

I've heard that too about Bavier and Frawley.  It's been said that they thought it beneath them to be on "televison".
