Many Euro's look down their noses at us but electing an Obama there, is an impossibility on almost any level.

Mainly because of who he is.

Very few I talk with mention the fact that he is black.

They talk about him being something different, a new type of leader, a new paradigm in politics if you will.

I don't necessarily agree with these assessments, but I think it's interesting that the race issue isn't brought up at all almost.

It's brought up in the context that people or our media discuss how the US media and people in the USA focus a lot on his race.

That's pretty interesting IMO.

I really hope we can avoid the whole race discussion on this one actually.

I'm not crazy about all of Obama's visions.

But I like some of his plans. Especially the volunteer program is something we could use in my country as well for our kids. It would install respect for grown-ups and just give kids good adult role models.
