Now, to be honest, I do appreciate the idea of "hope". The economy and many other issues can be directly affected by peoples outlooks... If people think he's doing things right, then it definitely can help... It's just not the end all be all.

He's not the Messiah... he's just a guy... hopefully one who will be straight with the American people and do things that this country needs, of which, none of them are "worry about abortion, gay marriage, or gun control."

Don't you get it? That's Rush's gimmick. He'll say something that sounds outrageous, something that can easily fit into a soundbite. Later he will make it more nuanced and claim he was taken out of context, the media twists his words and is out to get him, etc.

All he wants is for people to keep talking about him and this thread is doing just that

I used to listen to his show but he's too blindly partisan and he has massive ego problems.

I think people don't get that his show is as much "entertainment" as it is genuine political discussion. You don't get $400M contracts like he does for dry political analysis.

1st, most of us did not wish harm on Bush. It only happened here a few times and that shit was deleted and the people were warned. and the fact is, I deleted more threatening comments in the past year made toward Obama than I ever have for Bush. The point you are evading is that we wouldn't be mocking Bush if Bush didn't fuck up. It is the deed that earns our criticism and that is what you want to deny!!!! With Rush, it is that he hopes for Obama to fail. Do you have any freaking clue of how many of us would be so happy if Bush didn't fuck up and we were not placed in the position to mock him? He clearly said he wants Obama to fail only in the context of if he pushes a far left agenda giving the government much more control over our people and the private sector. I didn't see the FOLLOW-UP, where he reads a carefully prepared explanation for what he said.

Just like I didn't care when joelocal posted Rush's NEXT DAY explanation of "I'm dreaming of riots in Denver".

Sorry, I don't put much credence into what people say when they're going on news shows doing damage control. He's much more believable when he's saying what he thinks - not when trying to clean up a mess.
