Why do you think Obama will make a difference?
« on: January 20, 2009, 10:23:53 PM »
Why do so many Americans think that Obama is going to make such a big difference in the USA? So many black Americans crying all over the place thinking Obama is going to change the world for them! I don't get it!!

He's a politician. He will try but, he'll eventually let everyone down one way or another...unfortunately!
For everyone in the US, I hope he dose better than G.W Bush for you!
Good luck USA!!!

But, do you think he's going to make that big of a difference? Everyone loved Bush a first too right?

If he governs to the center instead of what he ran on, we'll be fine. But if he governs on the far left like he campained on, we're screwed. He believes government (total socialism/marxism) is the way.

Bush put more faith in gut feelings than in thinking things through.  He and the people he appointed were anti-intellectual.   they didn't want the government to work, so it didn't.     Obama has clearly appointed competent people in key positions.   They do want the government to solve problems, not just enrich themselves and their friends.

no, not at all.  his approval ratings were very poor prior to 9/11

Arne Duncan as education secretary...previously chief executive of chicago public schools.  One of the worst school systems in the country.

Janet Napolitano as Secretary of Homeland Security.  Previously arizona governor, no experience in the sector.

Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary.  Previously President of New York fed, hasn't payed taxes in three years.  Great example for americans.

Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.  Do I even need to type anything about this lunatic.

A black get pulled over in any city in America regardless of his stature, he is probably getting a ticket...For whites its a 50-50 shot...These negroes have been abused and still are being abused...99.999% of it never sees the news...

Obama being put into the top spot gives them hope...Hope to be left the fuck alone...But make no mistake...Obama is there to keep the peace when the shit really shits the fan...Hold on to your shit...Its about to get really bad...

listening to too much Rush again?

Timothy Geithner as Treasury Secretary.  Previously President of New York fed, hasn't payed taxes in three years.

he paid income tax.  what he didn't pay was the additional self employment tax that is required for people who work for themselves.  He worked for the IMF, which for some quirky reasons doesn't treat their employees as W-2 employees, but as 1099.   yes he should have known better, but it's not an unusual mistake.

Black people aren't crying because they think he is going to do something for them personally. They are crying, because he represents that in your own Country anything is possible, even being the President of the United States. For many this was thought to be impossible only because of the color of your skin. It represents a Hope that was never there before.

For all of us it is hopeful to have a young, smart and talented President. I honestly don't think Bush is that smart, a nice guy to hang out with, but  not someone you want running the Country. We don't think Obama is a saviour, we just hope he can do better.

obama is the son of god.

Judging by all the current propaganda, Obama is actually god's father.

He is being serious.... Have you listened to some of the comments people are making in the US about him. He hadn't even taken the oath of office yet and people were already comparing him to Lincoln and Kennedy. Makes no sense to me.

I know. Kind of like those people who knew he would fail even before he took the presidency.

I am giving him a chance, I am not passing judgment on him right now. Ask me 4 years from now, what I think.
