IMO, this is big news anyway. Not like we didn't know it was happening, I figure a lot of people did. HH6 mocked me for the paranoia and here it is--to have it confirmed is huge.

give it time. more whistleblowers will start to come fwd when they start smelling investigations coming their way. There's always the 1 guy who jumps on the deal first, and keeps his pension. The others know that, and they'll all start pointing fingers at higher-ups.

Bush and friends really did just do whatever they wanted. By exposing that, and opening up FOIA, etc, Obama can ensure it never happens again.

my point was that Bush was lying to us. He made it very clear that ONLY those ppl talking to bad guys overseas were being tapped. Now we have NSA whistleblowers who are admitting they did it on reporters.

It's scary because if ya don't nip it in the bud, it isn't long before we all have that big brother camera in our living room, ya know? Obama seems to be nipping it in the bud.

I think it's funny. Bush straight up lied about this one. People can't weasle around it. They cna try to justify it. Maybe Bush thought journalists were talking to terrorists? More likely he probably wanted to be able to pre-empt any big stories, or maybe keep tabs on who knew what. I mean, if a whistleblower came fwd about WMD, Iraq, 911, or anything else, the white hosue would know instantly.

Lets look purely at what this guy said....nobody knows exactly what the NSA got. The info was compartmentalized, meaning that he never got a full picture nor does he know if journalists were actually singled out. Further if this guy actually had something the NSA would come after him, disclosure of NSA procedures and operations is a National security violation. Oddly nobody but Obermann is running with this...oh yeah...super dyke is as well.

It does not matter that secretly investigating Americans is illegal.

What is "sufficient proof" for you is you insinuating that certain parts of the US government running amok may or may not have investigated me or any other American citizens. And that is, in your opinion, reason enough. Because your opinion is fact of course.

One guy is ur source...ok Obama said u have to give me all ur money. I'm ur source...no need to check with anybody else.

Do u know how big the NSA is...do u know this guy's background...clearance status....etc. I hold a TS SSI clearance...I've had it for 6 months. I don't know anything more then I did when I held a secret. I don't just roll into a skiff or into CIA and get to look at stuff. He does his job and is cleared for information pertaining to his job. These guys all take that stuff very seriously.....He may have an ax to grind..he might have gotten fired, reprimanded...u have no idea. One guy is not the full picture
