Could I stop taking steroids? Without a doubt I could, not a problem.
Could I stop eating "right"? Sure.
Could I stop training? No I don't think I could - it keeps me sane.

This is a time when you really need to reach down grab a hold and push through. If your referring to your self, I hope you start feeling better. Go out and have a good cheat day with your diet and treat your self.

Yes Jay I think this is a good idea, when you do not feel like doing bodybuilding just do regular life, give up the roids and lifting for however long your passion is gone, if it isn't their your workouts will be a pain and not enjoyable and after all this is something you do for fun.

I have been exactly where you are...I do mean exactly as you described. All I did was eat and train, in between I was up to my eye balls trying to find new ways to eat and train better. Hardly ever went out, lost touch with tons of friends, ran off any girl that ever got close to me, made my family think I was nuts!

Some guys get so caught up in the bodybuilding life that they never get out. But one day thank God I woke up.

I still love bodybuilding, I still train and still eat very, very clean. I will always do that, it's the way I like to live. But I woke up one day and realized I needed balance in my life. I also realized that no matter how well I ate, no matter how hard I train that I would never see my bank account go up in any significant way. I also began to realize if I was ever going to cultivate meaningful relationships again, something was going to have to give.

Thankfully for me as I said, I woke up. Granted, I did find a way to do what I love and turn it into a career. That did make things easier for me. But the other things that I mentioned that have no become priorities are too important to me if my career choice falls.

My advice, take some time off from the gym, maybe a week, maybe two, maybe more. If you truly love the training and everything that comes with it, you'll find your way back to the gym in due time. A couple weeks of putting it all on hold is not going to make or break you in any way.

Take some time, no lifting, eat some food you enjoy, don't eat by the clock, just eat when you're hungry and eat what you enjoy. Go out with your friends, make some new ones...begin creating new meaningful relationships in your life.

Also, and this is the big one...while you're on your break from training and all of that, really take some time to reflect and think about what's the most important things in your life. Many here on getbig know that for myself I often turn to God and prayer to help me find what it is when I need answers. If you're of the same mind set, then do the same, if not, do whatever it is you do to reach that point...even though, I would recommend my way...after all, it works for me.

Dude, i think it's safe to say that we have all been there at one point or another (at least) the ones who have been doing this for so long. Look, i started at 12 and now i'm 24 this "thing" or "lifestyle" has coasted me so much, that i don't even want to think about it. Money, time, friends, women, family, lies upon lies... etc.

But, when you start to feel like it's all for nothing just take a step back and try to breathe easy and do anything that will let you loose some steam, sooner or later you will be back with a vengeance. I know that i couldn't even live a "normal" life, even if i wanted to...

Take a day at a time man and all the best!

First let me thanks you all for your answer.  I don't know what to do and think. I'm 20 and I'm still in school too because of my life style of bb I kinda sacrifice school too.

Arnold Jr.  It's exactly that. I'll try to pray but I never really try in the past I ask for some advice in the "prayer forum" here in getbig.

Luolamies. I know exactly what u mean thanks for your support.

Jtsunami : Yeah thanks a lot for your help thanks you.

Thanks all.

Adrien, It's probably a good idea for you to step back and take a break from bodybuilding...
when it all comes down to it, it really shouldn't be that hard nor stressful...Take some time out and do at least for a couple of weeks something different- maybe another form of exercise or x-training. You sound burn't out.

Yes.  After shoulder surgery in Sept. I lost all motivation.  Horrible diet, no training, basically feeling sorry for myself.  In reality though it may have helped me. My body had time to heal and recover.  Now I have come back better than ever. My diet is so dialed in I have lost 17lbs. in 3 weeks.  Strength is on the way back up and the shoulder feels great.  I almost forgot what it is like to lift without pain.  IMO listen to your body, if you need a break from everything then do it.  It will help you in the long run.

Arnold jr,

Spot on! Excellent brother......at some point you have to wake up from the dream and ask yourself if its all worth the trouble in the end. For me it was all the shows and juice that I had to use to compete for a plastic or metal trophy. This made me release there is more to life then competition.

I've been feeling the same way lately. I'm just glad to be staying at the same weight, relatively low bf without feeling too small and overwhelmed by eating by the clock. I think we all hit these kinds of slumps.

I dont know...

You think your alone. Im in the same situation. What I've learned is it is not how big you are but your actions people respect you for. My mom tried to shot me and missed so brother your parents dont hate you!
You say you dont have friends? I made very good money and had alot of friends, but a bad decision and
all my friends gone. Well, the money that I helped friends pay there bills was gone and so was the friends to word it better.
You can stop anabolics, I did and its not a biggie.
My advice if it helps is your board with your life, happened to me.
Look at the sports that made you happy as a child and look for an adult chapter or get some hobbies or take a break.
Im not trying to get all YODA on you but hope this helps
