Author Topic: Ironman 2009 - Martin Kjellstrom - 13th Place!!?!?!?! (Read 17052 times)

Not the most aesthetic physique but 13th place was a bit harsh. If "ugly" physiques are penalized how come Bannout placed so high with those ridiculous Synthol calves and delts? For a true freak Martin is still fairly aesthetic.

Im not looking for "beautiful bodies" (if i was id go to a bikini contest!)
big and freaky = top 6 placement IMO

I agree Mike.... but the politics in the IFBB have never really allowed for fair judging? That's why i don't compete anymore.

Perhaps ask Chick about this?

That contest placement would make me sooo depressed and think about giving up (after spending thousands of dollars and countless hours/time sacrafices fot 13th place!)

Agreed. martin looks better than Paco.

And also I dont get why they put high value on the second place Mo. He is not huge.He is not cut. He is not beautiful. What is he?

Luckily politics work in the Euro's favor in Europe... which is why Martin is going to the Olympia anyway.

13th was about right....could have been a few spots up without an argument. Tough physique to judge....needs width and back thickness.

I'm with you Mike, he deserved a lot higher.. who knows, BB judging might be going down a different path? with the O, going to Dexter maybe the lighter more symmetrical physiques are being rewarded? I hope for th IFBB's sake they are consistent with the judging.
