Michael...You seem very knowledgeable, but I was at the show and even though I believe that Martin may have been place a couple spots higher, I do not believe he should have been in the top 10. His back is def weak (don't get me wrong) but in this weak line up i feel he should have been placed higher

Dude has a cool physique ala Jim Quinn or Curtis Leifler. Delts packed with Pump & Pose (External use only!) but it's 2009 and nobody cares anymore.

Nope.

An impressive competitor must win. Even if you have good line,you are not impressive in front of a guy who outmass 10 times.
Viceversa,if you carry super great line like Bob,Shawn or Lee labrada, you can battle out with bigger guys.
But, if they outmass you helplessly, you will lose.

Needless to say about the condition.

Not who is the most beautiful, but who is the most impressive.

the guy brought his "A-game" love his physique or hate it/he was not 13th place

lol@ ass kissing................i n a sea full of midgets i just liked the "taller/freakier" physique he brought to the ironman stage
that's all (plus i did a "$300.00 dollar website" for him and promised him a massive PR blitz!)

cud've bn 2 -4 spots higher but not much more. Great physique to guest pose but not so good for competition.. too many flaws esp from the back.
Mike, the biggest and tallest guy (like you) on the stage is almost always gonna look the best in the most muscular , nice try though lol. It's the other poses that determine the placements

very fair comparison I'd say.. the absolute worst pic of a guy who has 2 sandows and is currently 2nd in the world against the absolute best pic of a guywho did make top 10 at the ironman.. I know hatin on J is in now and no disrespect to Martin but lets be real here

Other than worthy competitors getting screwed and losing moeny they should rightly have won, IFBB judging is worthless. It lost all credability when Marckus Ruhl was marked down in a Mr Olyimpia (2001 I think) and was told he needed more size. Then theres the constant screwing over of Ronnie Rockell who should've won the 2009 ironman.
