Terrible Ted The Wrestling Bear
« on: January 26, 2009, 07:42:27 PM »
There are so many Stories about The wrsetling Bear i here my dad and Skandar Akbar talk about.  I guess you had to have balls to get in the ring with this thing. I will ask my old man about some of them.

Holy thread-resurrection, Batman...
 ;D

Remember, boys: it's a work. That bear was probably safer than his "opponent" in most cases, and nobody was trying to harm the animal.
Also, these were not wild bears. They were trained circus bears that had experience performing with humans. Their handlers were always present to lead them and intervene should anything go wrong.

Karl, welcome back!! You made a grand return here on our board like the 30th entrant at the Royal Rumble lol.

I remember Bruno Sammartino wrestling a bear too back in his day. No easy task and very ballsy.

Haku would have stopped him! ;D
In fact, I would have paid serious money to watch a real fight between a bear and Haku, or maybe Ken Patera.

But, seriously, even performance animals are still animals, and are prone to unpredictability.
Look at what happened to Siegfried and Roy in Vegas, as well as other instances of circus animals running amuck.
