Why not, he has just as good a chance to win as anyone else. At least he won't be a puny little insignificant Mr. Olympia as Dexter Jackson. Gunter would put people in the seats...

39 is not old for Bodybuilding. You think about it. How old was Coleman the last time he won the Olympia? If Gunter is 39, he is just hitting his prime as far as Bodybuilding goes.. He could teach a thing or two to the younger guys in more ways than one.

exactly..it's not like they're relying on their own hormonal output is it?

39 is borderline middle-aged, and almost certainly post-prime. It's one thing to be 'maintaining' at age 39 by way of hormonised consistency, but to actually come back after a prolonged layoff is something entirely different. Gunter is finished.

39 isn't "post-prime" for most bb'ers.

Gunter has had a good break, givin his body a rest and given his receptors a chance to recover.

Might as well make a comeback.....would sell more tickets.
No doubt about it...

just an opinion but i believe the receptor recovery at 39 will be quite low, i dont see him being able to regain all his size and condition of yesteryear, let alone improve,  as you get older consistency matters as harry stated, its a fineline between consistency and having good breaks, but i think Gunters clean out has been to long and if he come back, hes going to do a Nasser.

We all saw his pics. He's been gone 2 years and whilst i'm not saying he was "off" the whole time, he was obviously taking WAY less than he normally was, and he would have gone periods totally off.

you cant compare him to Nasser-----Nasser destroyed his physique with synthol and had mad surgeries to correct the problems, Nasser was and is also way more of a hormone abuser than Gunter, at least Gunter is naturally a big guy while Nasser was just another 160lb soccer player before going into BBing

Are you suggesting that Gunter's type I receptors are bound with hsp 70 and / or 90 and are primed for signal transduction, Webcke?
