I dont really know why did he apologize, with so much money in his pockets and 8 medals, you dont really need to apologize, unless he's preparing himself to win more tha 8 medals at uk in the next olympics!

Anyway a few people have been banned from sports in the UK for taking recreational drugs, most recently Matt Stevens who is probably going to be banned from rugby for 2 years because he snorted coke (allegedly).  They might not be performance enhancing but they are still on the banned list.
