1940 - Bobby Arreola wins a tournament for the vacant Mexican National Welterweight Title in Mexico City, Mexico.

1947 - Gray Mask defeats Billy Goelz to win the Pacific Coast Light Heavyweight Title in Eugene, Oregon.

1960 - Kerry Von Erich is born in Niagara Falls, New York.

1960 - Mario Galento defeats Yvon Robért in Mobile, Alabama to win the NWA Gulf Coast Heavyweight Title. This began Galento's third reign and ended Robért's second.

1962 - Luther Lindsay and Ricky Waldo defeat Rikidozan and Toyonobori in Tokyo, Japan for the JWA All Asia Tag Team Title.

1965 - Bobby and Lee Fields defeat Terry Garvin and Chin Lee to win the Gulf Coast NWA Southern Tag Team Title in Mobile, Alabama, ending and beginning both teams' second reigns.

1967 - Enrique and Ramón Torres win their second Georgia NWA World Tag Team Title from Butcher and Mad Dog Vachon in Atlanta, Georgia.

1967 - Danny Little Bear defeats Jack Dalton for the NWA Gulf Coast Louisiana Heavyweight Title in Lafayette, Louisiana, ending Dalton's second reign.

1968 - Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki defeat Crusher Lisowski and Dr. Bill Miller in Tokyo, Japan to win their second NWA International Tag Team Title.

1969 - Antonio Inoki and Kintaro Ohki defeat Tom Jones and Buster Royd to win the vacant JWA All Asia Tag Team Title in Sapporo, Japan. This began their second reign.

1969 - Ken Lucas and Johnny Walker end the third NWA Mid-America Southern Tag Team Title reign of The Mighty Yankees (Frank Morrell and Eddie Sullivan) in Memphis, Tennessee.

1973 - All Japan Pro Wrestling becomes a member of the National Wrestling Alliance.

1973 - Johnny Powers defeats Karl Von Krupp to win his fifth NWF North American Heavyweight Title.

1976 - The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene and Ole Anderson) defeat Rufus R. Jones and Wahoo McDaniel in Raleigh, North Carolina to win their third NWA World Tag Team Title.

1976 - Eddie Sullivan defeats Bob Sweetan in Mobile, Alabama to win the NWA Gulf Coast Heavyweight Title.

1978 - Killer Karl Krupp ends Fritz Von Erich's fourth NWA Texas Brass Knuckles Title reign in Houston, Texas.

1980 - A 10-team tournament for the vacant NWA Central States Tag Team Title is held in Kansas City, Kansas. The results:
Quarterfinals:
- The Texas Outlaws (Dick Murdoch and Dusty Rhodes) defeated Dory Funk, Jr. and Terry Funk.
- Bruiser Brody and Ernie Ladd defeated Bob Brown and Dick the Bruiser.
- Jerry and Ted Oates defeated Bob Sweetan and Takachiho (The Great Kabuki).
- The Assassin and Rock Hunter defeated The Avenger and Ed Wiskowski.

1984 - David Von Erich defeats Michael Hayes in Dallas, Texas to win the NWA United National Heavyweight Title.

1985 - Jim Crockett Promotions held an event at the Civic Center in Savannah, Georgia. The results:
- American Starship Coyote (Scott Hall) defeated Frank Lang.
- NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Denny Brown defeated Sam Houston to retain the title.
- NWA World Television Champion Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) fought Magnum T.A. to a draw to retain the title.
- NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair defeated Wahoo McDaniel to retain the title.

1987 - Jeff Jarrett and Pat Tanaka defeat The Rock 'n' Roll RPM's (Mike Davis and Tommy Lane) in Memphis, Tennessee for the AWA Southern Tag Team Title. This ended the RPM's second reign.

1989 - The WWF's second edition of "The Main Event" airs live on NBC from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The show got an 11.6 rating. The results were:
- The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan and WWF Champion Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth)) defeated The Twin Towers (Akeem and The Big Boss Man (with Slick)), when Hogan pinned Akeem after a legdrop. During the match, Savage was thrown out of the ring by Akeem onto Elizabeth. Hogan carried Elizabeth backstage for medical attention. She came to and told Hogan to return to the ring. Hogan came back to the ring and called for a tag, and was then slapped in the face by Savage, who then left the ring. Hogan won the match, then went to the back as well. Savage accused Hogan of trying to steal Miss Elizabeth away, Hogan then begged Elizabeth to talk some sense into his partner, then Savage hit Hogan with the WWF Title belt and attacked him. Brutus Beefcake and several officials broke up the fight. The Mega Powers' five-month partnership was over, and the stage was set for Savage's title defense against Hogan two months later at WrestleMania V.
- Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) pinned Hercules with a roll-up after Virgil distracted Hercules while he had DiBiase in the backbreaker.

1989 - Brickhouse Brown defeats Iceman Parsons to win the WCWA Texas Heavyweight Title in Dallas, Texas.

1990 - Curtis Thompson defeats Scotty the Body (Raven) for the NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Title in Portland, Oregon, ending Scotty's second reign.

1990 - The Southern Rockers (Steve Doll and Rex King) defeat Robert Fuller and Brian Lee to win the USWA Tag Team Title in Memphis, Tennessee.

1991 - The WWF held an event at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland. The results:
- The Barbarian defeated Koko B. Ware.
- The Big Boss Man pinned Haku.
- The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags) defeated The Bushwhackers, when Knobbs pinned Butch.
- The Undertaker defeated Tugboat.
- The Rockers (Marty Jannetty and Shawn Michaels) defeated Demolition (Smash and Crush), when Michaels pinned Crush.
- Roddy Piper defeated WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect (with Bobby Heenan) by countout. Perfect retained the title.
- Jim Duggan pinned Gen. Adnan (subbing for Sgt. Slaughter). Duggan was originally scheduled to face Slaughter before Slaughter won the WWF Title from The Ultimate Warrior at the Royal Rumble.
- WWF Champion Sgt. Slaughter (subbing for Randy Savage) defeated The Ultimate Warrior in a Steel Cage match to retain the title. This match was originally scheduled to be Warrior defending the title against Savage, but this was before Slaughter won the title.

1991 - Kevin Von Erich defeats The Angel of Death in Dallas, Texas for the Texas Wrestling Federation Texas Heavyweight Title.

1991 - El Bronco and Invader I defeat The Texas Hangmen (Killer and Psycho) to win the WWC World Tag Team Title in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

1991 - Ciclón Ramirez defeats Canelo Casas to win his second Mexican National Welterweight Title in Acapulco, Mexico.

1995 - Hiroshi Ono defeats The Crypt Keeper in Tokyo, Japan to win the vacant W*ING World Heavyweight Title.

1996 - The Eliminators (Kronus and Saturn) defeat Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck for the ECW World Tag Team Title at "Big Apple Blizzard Blast" in Queens, New York, to end Jack and Whipwreck's second reign.

1996 - The Lost Boys (Wolf and Yar) defeat Bad Attitude and The Greek Connection in a three-way match in Cherry Hill, New Jersey to become the first NWA United States Tag Team Champions in Dennis Coralluzzo's NWA Championship Wrestling America/New Jersey promotion.

WCW's 73rd episode of "Monday Nitro" was live from the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee. 8,173 fans attended. The results were:
- Ultimo Dragon defeated Rey Mendoza, Jr.
- Glacier defeated Billy Kidman.
- Ice Train defeated La Parka.
- Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) and The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott) fought to a no-contest.

- Diamond Dallas Page defeated The Renegade.

- Doug Furnas and Philip LaFon defeated WWF Tag Team Champions The British Bulldog and Owen Hart by countout, after Bulldog accidentally backdropped Owen over the top rope, with Owen seemingly getting injured. Bulldog and Hart retained the title.

1999 - Chip Fairway defeats The Suicide Kid in Charlestown, Indiana, in a rematch from the previous night, to win his second IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Title.

2000 - The Great Kendo, Shoji Nakamaki and Ichiro Yaguchi defeat Mitsunobu Kikuzawa, Atsushi Onita and Shigeo Okumura for the Onita Pro Barbed-Wire Street Fight Six-Man Tag Team Title in Tokyo, Japan.

2007 - Steve Douglas defeats Chris Colen in a No Holds Barred match at "Battlefield" Neuwied, Germany to win the German Stampede Wrestling Breakthrough Title.

2007 - Alex Montalvo defeats Fireblaze to win his second WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Title in Caguas, Puerto Rico, ending Fireblaze's second reign. Also at that show, Superstar Romeo defeats Barrabas, Jr. for the vacant WWC Television Title.

2007 - Totally Awesome (The Kamikaze Kid and El Sucio) defeat Danger International (Chris Dramin and Mike Vaughn), Fusion GX and Team FSU (6D6 and Horrorshow) in an elimination match in Saluda, Virginia for the vacant NWA Virginia Tag Team Title.

2007 - Billy Roc defeats D-Von Fury at Insanity Pro Wrestling's "Sacrifice" in Indianapolis, Indiana for the IPW Mid-American Title.
