I don't think it will collapse fully - as I seriously don't.

England isn't the empire builder it was no, and it may have "collapsed", but its still a great nation, offering a solid 1st world standard of living. Bear in mind, I think all this USA is the best is sheer arrogance not based on fact anyway.The best would be US, Canada, Oz, NZ, much of Europe, and a few of us down here IMO. All different, but great nations.

Many will line up to prop up the USA, as its a unique position - when they sneeze we all catch a cold.

My island, and the few other wealthy tax havens down here - will face disaster if the USA collapses. When I say disaster, I mean on a scale you can't comprehend. Ambulances - you know what ours are? Private jets to get us to the USA. My birth island is population 6,000. My island wont even show up on most maps. We are all tiny and cannot survive without the outside world, we are 95% dependent on it.

We are the most extreme case possible yes, but the US collapsing will affect the world - so the world will prop it up, and toss whatever cash they can at it. The US will flounder, go down and all sorts - but collapse - no.

So perhaps, I am naive, and obviously have a twisted view on things due to my locale being a place where those with money hide it - but I recall when I said the US dollar and economy would be trash way back, due to what I saw here, I got flamed to a crisp. I was right though, and I think I am right on this.

?//. Hahah when was the last time you went to London or traveled throughout England? The English are more fed up with their government and economy/country than we are. It's hardly a 1st world standard of living. Like America it's becoming a third world country with the middle class being relegated to the rich and the poor. You sound like you have money so maybe being middle class doesn't mean much to you. But England is far from a 1st world country. It's one of the most expensive countries in the world to live. And let's not talk about their freedoms or lack thereof.

I don't know maybe you and I have a very different view of what a 1st world country is. To me it's a country with the strongest middle class in the world..............aka America 40 years ago........the greatest amount of prosperity spread over the largest amount of people per their country. England is a country of elites......much like the direction we are headed.

Taking a dip now and then or eating some fish while camping maybe fun once in a while, but doing it for a great length of time may expose you to harmful if not deadly toxins and the task of living in such silence (not even a radio) can bring about madness. I remember from history class that the homestead acts which paid people to move west failed miserably for the new comers, because the isolation drove many insane and these people filled the insane asylums after being alone for extended periods of time. Again I am not being defeatist..just real. Ideally what you desire to do sounds great, but what one thinks about and what one does and the outcome can be dramatically different than what is expected....

The guns were for hunting food, just like the fishing rod. Im not living in fear, those are just things that are already at my fingertips for use, why not utilize them? I could survive in a cabin for a long time as long there are deer and fish, rabbits, etc... Chances of survival are way better up in the woods then in the city, there is TONS of free land, that's for sure.

OK...it is Monday and so far so good. That does not mean the prophesy is false..... but so far so good. I was expecting to hear the market start out falling like crazy, but not yet so far. There unfortunately was a long list of business' mentioned that would most likely fail this year: RITEAID, CHRYSLER, SBARRO, SIX FLAGS, SIRIUS SATELLITE, KRISPY KREME, TRUMP ENTERTAINMENT CASINOS, BLOCKBUSTERS etc etc etc and that is not good news either.

Not at all. Just prepared for anything and make plans accordingly.

1. Dont take on unnecessary debt.

2. Pay off existing debts.

3. Streamline and cut fat out of business. For example, we just made a small switch in the office that saved us $150 a month on our phone bill.

4. Save up supplies in case of an emergency.

If you put your head in the sand that is fine, but if you want to realize just WTF is going on than you need to listen to the people who called 100000% the disaster we are facing, when all the other "trusted" voices did not.

All I am saying is that the same people who called this meltdown while others did not see it coming are saying other sorts of things as well.

Its not going to happen like that..it will be a gradual erosion of rights and other things. The 3rd world will go to shit and the rest of us will gradually fall apart. I don't think for one minute that will happen but if it did, it would be gradual. If u guys are that worried u need to be doing more then stocking up, I'd start with this ridiculous bill before congress.

I'm not worried about it, I have very marketable skills in a post apocalpyse future.
