Maybe it's because "we proved to the world..."   ::)

Maybe it's because, as Beach Bum has said repeatedly, there are a lot of scientific impossibilities regarding the suits (radiation and temperature), political ramifications in which we benefitted tremendously from such an event, and because all missions were ended the week after USSR announced a telescope capable of viewing the landing, a telescope which to this day has been unable to view the landing zones and abandoned craft.


Personally, I think BB's a little off his rocker... but it's hard to argue some of the things he shared.  I rad this page for 5 minutes and, well, yikes...
