Drug name: Alflutop
Active Ingredients:
standardized and defatted extract from sea-fish
Therapeutic actions: Alflutop is a natural medicine, obtained from the sea-fish. Alflutop regulates metabolism in cartilaginous tissue. It contains glycosaminoglycans that are essential substances in activation of the regeneration processes in the damaged cartilage. Alfutop exerts chondroprotective action based on inhibiting the activity of hyaluronidase and other enzymes. These enzymes contribute to destruction of the intercellular matrix. Inhibiting these enzymes allows Aflutop to normalize biosynthesis of the hyaluronic acid and collagen type II.
Due to restoration of hemostasis in joints and retardation the release of the inflammatory mediators, Alflutop exerts moderate anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
Indications: Alflutop is indicated to treat the following conditions:
Primary and secondary osteoarthrosis (coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis, arthrosis).
Spondylosis
Osteochondrosis
Contraindications and cautions: You should not use Alflutop in the following conditions:
Known hypersensitivity or allergy
Pregnancy
Breastfeeding
It is not recommended to use this medication in children and adolescents.
Adverse effects: There are possible side-effects associated with this medicine that can affect individuals in different ways. If a side effect is stated here, that does not necessarily mean the fact that all people using Alflutop will experience it or any other.
In rare cases dermatitis, skin rash, itching sensation, myalgia are possible.
So, I googled and came up with this from a site selling it. If it comes from Fish, is is considered a drug? After reading about it, it does not sound like it would mask pain but rather help healing?
I have zero knowledge about this as I was just intrigued after reading the posts. My shoulder is giving me fits lately but if this drug really only masks the pain, I don't want that!
I do know that enzymes have worked well for some with pain and inflammation as well. I guess I am just having a hard time believing this could just mask like cortisone or something along those lines....
