How can you prove anyone is a gimmick, though? Only Ron can see IP addresses, so a mod's guess is only as good as yours or mine.

Thats how it is.plus I'm not into the whole behind the scenes deal.
I can't move the threads to the V and I'm not going to go chasing around posts and deleting them.

It's not hard to peg the gimmicks. They usually show up out of the blue, know everything about everyone that's happened in the last 4 years on here, claims they were long time lurkers who just had to register to comment on this one topic, and usually resort to posting personal info. in their attacks because they can't outwit anyone.

I agree. But sometimes, you've got guys like TomR and Joey Tito who start new accounts every few months and do the same BS over and over. I'm just saying that you can't tell for sure, without a shadow of doubt, unless you actually see the IP addresses.

some are hard some are obvious

but accounts started to post personal info and attack wifes and kids on here

That's why I only talk to people that I know are actual people for the most part. I can't be bothered trying to figure out if an unfamiliar handle is actually a new member or just another gimmick returning with yet another screen name.

No he didn't. You can't see IP addresses unless you are admin and SS is a mod, not admin. It's standard across all themes and versions of SMF, including the default theme that this site uses.

Alex did indeed post a bunch of IP addresses. Not sure how he got them. Ron deleted them quickly.

Yeah, I know Alex did. He got them using a worm link that he sent via PM / email, I think. Either way, you can't see IP addresses in SMF / Getbig if you are a mod - you know that.
