defintely go with a 40 bro------you want the stopping power it gives you, someone on meth or jacked up on something else can take a couple 9mm's, but one hollow point 40 and they're dropping

I already have the XD 40.  I just held the XD-M at Gander Mountain a couple hours ago.  It feels much better, but I don't know if its worth the $650 price tag.

well for that i have a olympic arms ar-15 with a trijicon reflex sight so i can stop them dead

my HK compact USP 40 is around $830-$850 but worth every penny-----plus if you get something good you can always sell it for good $$$$ too if you're looking to get something else



you can always buy something used also----I got my HK 40 for $525, and its pretty much brand new, I can sell the thing right now for that much or maybe even more

Glockes are yesterday's news, sure.  But they still get the job done. 

New stuff is nice, but it's untested and you never know what flaws will emerge.  Maybe it turns to a cheese grater against your knuckle or thumb when you crank out 1500 rounds in an afternoon.  Maybe frame is unreliable after 8 years.  Maybe something I cna't think of.

I love guns, but not because I'm a collecter or because I enjoy showcasing them.  My guitars are for that   The gun is just a very very nice tool you pray you'll never need to use.

I love my gun since it has the safety which I can use to decock the hammer too and since its double action I can put one in the chamber, decock it and put the safety on, so I know Im not going to accidently shoot myself and at teh same time Im prepared in case I need to shoot it quick and dont have time to chamber a round.

That's why you are supposed to carry a revolver, there's always one in the chamber.

most people i've talked to agree that the hk's are really that good.

as for the springfield, i'd get the one made in croatia, forget the model number, before springfield bought them out.
