Building a website?
« on: February 14, 2009, 08:30:44 PM »
Could anyone here give me tips for a specific way to run a website? I'd like to know how to make a website which has certain logic rules for certain circumstances depending on what visitors do.

For instance if Visitor A and Visitor B do Action A, then Action B occurs. Action B won't occur unless both visitor A and B do action A.

Does anyone know how this would be possible? If anyone could help me out with resources on finding how to do this sort of specific thing, please let me know.

PM me for more info on what I'm looking for.
Thanks.

I use Swish Max and you can have if statements in there.  It is pretty easy.

What is your website, windsor?

If A > 7102 and B < 2196, then C = 2384
If not, then C = 0

I don't think that's possible. Maybe in Star Trek, but not in real life. haha!

you can do that easy enough but must consider person c
whatcha gonna do with him or does c relate back to person a
and we start over.
alot of cool things (sometimes brutal) can be done via basic
html and easily learned. php and database stuff is easy enough
to setup and run. can be a major whore to debug without knowledge
but so much software like blog scripts are pretty much plug n play.

reason i mention brutal because i'm one of those guys that would
lead no buying ass freeloaders off my sites into endless popups.
you know they're brutal when you get your own ass trapped and have
to reboot to get out.
alot of fun
oh yea no one mentiioned htaccess. with it you can control actions based
on ip, country etc

if you have no site webmastering experience think small and simple
to start. depending on your goals the learning curve to reach said goals
can be excrutiating.  let us know what you have in mind. I taught webmasters
for 5 years free from sarcastic-bastards.com. don't own the domain any longer but
excellent info where sarcasm was a requirement oh and not being late on sunday
to attend services at bedside-baptists.com with reverand sleepy
shoulda kept that bastard too. but didn't. arrghh

i dont have one now but am familiar with what it can do.

i do not know your layout or plans.  that would help.  are people making choices? give details on how you are going to scam...build your site.

Building a website is all about knowing when to boil the orange sponge donkey across the Philippines with an orangutan gorilla crossed with a ham sandwich to the fourth power of twelve across the nile with an awful headache from the previous night when all of Alfred's naughty jalapeņo peppers frog-marched the Nordic elves across the loom-lined Geronimo induced swamp donkey over and above the Fortran fortified Kilimanjaro fence past the meticulously crafted anti disgusting sponge cake scenario where all the hats doth quoteth the milk which is not unlike the super werewolf from the infinite realm of ninja-step. It's hard to build one, really.

Did that help? Should I PM you for more info?

then ban all of china russia arab countries. anywhere where taking
a credit card is either risk to process or will be turned down by your processor.
unless you have your own merchants account and wouldn't count on that.

only thing I dont do is graphic and I have my own bitch for server administration.

stark, garraeth, and tim fogarty would be the men with the ability to code dynamic content such as this.

for a simple form, you can find little java solutions out there.  php as well.
