When we're talking about pull-ups, are we talking about underhand close-grip or wide-grip chins?

On the former, I have no idea - I never do them. On the latter, about 13 for a first set.
I am better at overhand grip than Underhand grip.

I am amazed at how this is not true for the majority.

Once did 20 with a 25 on the belt. Now: none. Don't miss those at all.

20 with bad form for the last 3-4 though. How long do you all rest between sets. I'll usually only do 15 my first set, then abut 12 is my max and after that 6-7. I rest 1 minute between sets, i'm wondering if i recover slow and if i should rest longer or if this is normal.

Are these full chest to bar pullups? Or Chris Cormier 5 inch movement pullups?

I can do 8 1 arm chins with each arm (I am holding my working arm around the wrist with the non-working arm...not a "true" one arm chin-up), but I've never been able to do high reps in chins/pull-ups. I think I can get 10-12 for a set or two and then I'm toast for the next sets of the exercise.

Haha if you can do just ONE one armed chinup you are elite/world class, but the beast youngblood can do it for 8 reps with 2 45's strapped to his back.  ;D

There's talk of a pullup competition on the Powerlifting Board:

That is a ridiculous thing for him to say... I can do 10-12 and I know full well I can not do ONE single arm pull up... NOT ONE.

How many can you do RIP?

When I am in contest shape, prolly 16-18.  Now that I am heavier and out of practice, maybe 10-12.

underhand involves biceps too much.   I only do them overhand.

Can anyone do "muscle ups" where you do a pull up then keep the momentum going to push yourself up over the bar. This one trainer at my gym used to train navy seals and could knock out a set of 10 of those no problem. I can't do any.

All I know is my cousin is a Navy Seal, and he is incredibly strong when it comes to pull ups, they do alot of them i can imagine, and I've seen him knock out 40 full reps easily, but I would like to see the dude that claims he can do 60 reps, that would be impressive if its true..

It's all about progression with muscle ups. I'm not saying they're easy, but if you train towards them they are a lot less difficult than you imagine.

Depends....anywhere from 20 to 33 on the first set. After that, it drops to about half. Then to about 10 reps, down to 5 to 7 or so by the end.
