good article. well worth reading.

NT

The bottom line, like Celente said, is we need to cut back govt spending as a portion of GDP and stop going into debt.

Someone tell the politicians that!

Unless we attack the debt structure directly, there is no point in counting upon any government to help mitigate the problem and more-likely-than-not, our very future may be recast in so many ways, the level of frustration will rise, and that leads to war because war distracts the people from hanging their own politicians.

The oldest trick in the book is to blame the guy next-door down.  Unless we are honestly prepared to truly 1) reorganize the structure of government, 2) reorganize the entire debt structure both private and public, 3) regulate leverage,  4) restore usury laws that will free up personal income, and 5) look at just eliminating the federal income tax in combination with 6) establishing a new national heathcare system that will restructure all pension plans public and private, there is not much hope for the future from government.

The government is the root of all these problems.  That is why we will not get out this.

They refuse to curtail massive spending on every level.

A national healthcare system is about the worst thing we can do. Do u want Uncle Sam telling u what doctor to go to, or when u can get an operation, or what they'll pay for, or if u qualify for said operation, how how much u can eat, or what u can eat. Do u want to go on "medical" vacations to get care. Do u want to wait in an ambulance, because wait times in ER's are regulated (UK), but they're trying to get around it.

Dude, you really need to start doing some deeper reading and thinking instead of just discussing the surface bullshit spewed by Rush and Glen Beck.  National Health care is the least of our worries right now.

We have too many people and not enough productivity.  I'm really starting to get scared as to how fucked we are.

A national healthcare is the BEST thing that could be done. As it stands now TENS OF MILLIONS of people are without and and TENS OF MILLIONS receive inadequate, sub-adequate or flat out NO HEALTH CARE AT ALL. At least with national health care EVERYONE can see a doctor when they need to. So far as this hair brained assumption that you can only see certain doctors or receive certain operations etc...that is the case with even the best insurance policies. So despite all the supposed negative you imagine, it is still better having national healthcare than NO HEALTHCARE AT ALL.

Exactly...  a government troll who would MELTDOWN if he didn't receive his annual cost of living increase from Uncle Sam.

Just look around at the malls, sporting events, etc.

Americans are slobs and cannot be phyisically productive making stuff unless we have a huge turn around socially, culturally, etc.

You are DEAD RIGHT with this...america produces ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and without manufacturing a country is DEAD regardless of what its government says or tries to do. These supposed stimulus packages are only slick ways america is DUMPING BILLIONS if not TRILLIONS of dollars into the economy which further devalues the dollar and makes it possible for america to pay back its debt to the many nations it owes by giving those nations money that is not worth the paper it is printed on. It is NOT a DEPRESSION that  america is in, it is WORST than americas first depression it at the very least it had industries to pull itself up and out...now america has NOTHING to lift itself up or to even maintain itself. What america will experience soon is a SUPERDEPRESSION where the nations it is indebted to will literally claim chunks of america for itself. Kinda like how France, Spain and England once owned large sections of america. What will become of the people of america??? I can only see them as being reduced down to SLAVES for these nations as these nations begin extracting out the little left natural resources for their own countries. Eventually after the land is raped of all its content, Europe, Japan, China, even the Middle Eastern countries who have invested TRILLIONS into america will more than likely bomb it into nonexistence, assuring it never rises to be a threat again. Hate to sound to SciFi-ish, but it is a high probability of happening...
