Obama to appoint panel for auto recovery

WASHINGTON – It will take more than one "car czar" to help get the embattled U.S. auto industry back on track, President Barack Obama has decided. Instead, his administration is establishing a presidential task force to direct the restructuring of General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC, a senior administration official said Sunday night.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers will oversee the across-the-government panel, the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because no announcement has been made.

tax cuts are a wash for me.  Obama gave the repubs 300 bil in tax cuts in the spirit of bipartisanship, and they told him it wasn't enough.  After the free-for-all in taxes that bush granted everyone, I could give a rats ass what they give to the rich upper 50% now, to be honest.  If 300 bil in cuts wasn't enough for repubs, really, just sucka  cawk already guys.

Stim bill is almost identical to what Clinton did in 1993.  And in 1993, it worked.  I welcome you to check out the thread I have which discusses Clintons' big 1993 stim bill.  Created 7 mil jobs and reversed a recession that Bush 1 left- in a single year.

The tax cuts will not work because they dont do anything.  $13 a week is nothing.

BTW - this plan is not the same as Clinton because Clinton raised taxes, he did not impose an imperious govt for decades to come like ZERO just did.
