Serious question, what is neccesary to turn the democratic US into a totalitarian dictatorship ruled by one man? could it be possible?

i don't consider myself a left wing, bleeding heart liberal but i'm sick and tired off all this anarchy/dictatorship talk that goes on the interweb just because the president is a mulatto

Has nothing to do whether he's black, white or mulatto, this man and the liberal media duped people into voting for him without listening to the otherside by pointing out his socialist views, now we are going to have to pay for mistakes made by the people who did vote for him.

The only democratic event in america is the election which really isn't a election at all...it is just a deceptive act to make the american people feel like they are voting. WHAT A JOKE. Washington is loaded down with symbolism just like this and the masses seem to ignore it. For some reason people don't think reoccurring fasci all over Washington warrents 2 minutes of investigation as to its origin.

If USA had parlamentarism, it would probably be more democratic.

The current political system favors a two-party political aristocracy.

Which hurts the democracy since smaller fringe parties currently cannot get representation in the congress.

What would it take?First silence your critics.Perhaps the fairness doctrine.Next,take over the economy.Lets see,maybe the government taking over the banking system.Then start having the people totally relly on the government for their very existance.Lets see,stimulous packages that spend on the poor and motgage plans to aleviate peoples failings.

Id say we are well on the way.

  A dictatorship will not happen here.  Balkanization or forced entry into a sort of North American Union is the more likely scenario.   And I see this predicated by an economic catastrophe rather than some sort of coup or direct takeover.

I don't see any of this unless its a gradual slide. Even what we're seeing now could be considered gradual. I think a terror attack followed by the before mention economic collapse could put us over the edge...but armed troops fighting in the streets does not seem very likely.
