"UFC 95: Sanchez vs. Stevenson" event, which takes place at The 02 in London, England.

As a reminder, today's first bout begins at 1 p.m. EST (10 a.m. PST), though because of a tape delay, the event doesn't air on Spike TV until 9 p.m. EST/PST.

Today's event features Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson in a lightweight headliner, and in the co-main event, British star Dan Hardy takes on fellow welterweight Rory Markham.

JOSH KOSCHECK VS. PAULO THIAGO

Round 1 - A touch of gloves gets the broadcast started. Thiago circles to his right as Koscheck takes the center of the cage. Koscheck misses with a few hard right hands. Thiago answers with a few low kicks. Koscheck tries to clinch and Thiago slips away. The crowd boos at the tentative aggression. Koscheck scores with a big overhand right, but Thiago appears unfazed. Koscheck throws a flurry but misses with the blows. Thiago snaps out a front kick, but Koscheck quickly answers with another right hand. Koscheck stalking and appears very comfortable on his feet. Halfway through the round and Thiago has shown little offense. Koscheck scores with a kick to Thiago's left thigh. Koscheck continues to score with a jab that he immediately follows with heavy rights. Thiago drops his hands and Koscheck charges in. A right uppercut by Thiago slips under a left hand by Koscheck and a left hook follows. Koscheck is immediately dropped and referee Marc Goddard jumps in to halt the bout. Thiago never followed to the floor, and the crowd does not like the decision. Paulo Thiago def. Josh Koscheck via KO (punches) -- Round 1, 3:2

DEMIAN MAIA VS. CHAEL SONNEN

Round 1 - The two touch gloves. Sonnen catches a kick and Maia drops, but Sonnen won't follow. The two trade jabs and hooks with little success. Maia shoots in and Sonnen sprawls. Maia tries to get double underhooks and pull guard, but Sonnen continues to back away. The two trade with Maia on his back and Sonnen kneeling. Sonnen looks to stand and Maia grans hold and pulls him to guard. Maia leaves it open and Sonnen stands. Maia moves in as Sonnen backs away to the cage. Maia scores a toss from the cage and immediately locks in a triangle choke from top position. Maia rolls to his back, aqueezes his legs and forces the tap. Demian Maia def. Chael Sonnen via submission (triangle choke) -- Round 1, 2:37

WILSON GOUVEIA vs. NATE MARQUARDT

Round 1 - Marquardt throws an early leg kick as Gouveia takes the center of the cage. Gouveia paws with a jab, feeling the distance. Marquardt snaps a low kick, then a high kick, though neither score. The two trade low kicks. Gouveia keeps his left hand low and Marquardt tries a pair of kicks on different levels. Marquardt charges forward with a Superman punch and Gouveia backs away. Halfway through the round and Gouveia scores with his hands before Marquardt retreats. Marquardt scores again with low kicks, then goes high. Marquardt circling around Gouveia. The Brazilian scores with a straight and Marquardt again backs away, refusing to trade in the pocket. Marquardt scores with a front kick then misses up high. Marquardt misses with a Superman punch and Gouveia retaliates. Marquardt shoots in with a minute remaining. Gouveia grabs a guillotine choke with his left arm, but Marquardt remains calm and pops his head out. Gouveia pulls closed guard, then switches to a body triangle. Marquardt lands a few punches from top and a knee as Gouveia rolls. The round ends and MMAjunkie.com sees a close round for Marquardt, 10-9.

Round 2 - Gouveia breathing a bit heavier than his opponent. Marquardt again opens with a low kick. Gouveia's trying to land with reaching straight hands, but Marquardt evades. Gouveia scores with a leg kick. One minute has passed and the crowd is a bit restless. Gouveia scores with a right hand, but Marquardt answers with a knee. Gouveia against the cage and Marquardt engages. The two trade, but Marquardt gets the best of it. Marquardt scores and works in a clinch to the rear-naked choke attempt. Gouveia rolls out of the hold after a few tense moments, and Marquardt works from inside the Brazilian's guard. Marquardt lands several elbows from the top while Gouveia's head is trapped against the cage. Gouveia works to secure Marquardt's arms, then pushes out. and stands. Marquardt grabs an arm-in guillotine, then scores with a knee before releasing the hold. Gouveia continues to move forward, but Marquardt lands a few knees and a counter-right hand. Marquardt scores with a stiff right hand and Gouveia is wobbling as time is running down. Marquardt follows with more strikes but there's not enough time to earn the finish. MMAjunkie.com sees it for Marquardt, 10-9.

Round 3 -  Gouveia starts with a jab, but Marquardt backs away and scores with a series of pushing kicks. Gouveia stationary as he holds his left hand low. Gouveia pushes straight forward behind a punch, but Marquardt proves elusive. Slow pace from both fighters. Gouveia lunges with a punch and Marquardt moves to grab his back. Marquardt clinches with a body lock and looks for a suplex. Gouveia resists but offers little in return as precious seconds wind off the clock. Gouveia tries for a guillotine choke, but Marquardt pushes away. Gouveia throwing slower, loopier punches as time winds down. Marquardt lands a flying knee and cuts Gouveia open over his left eye. The offense comes rushing forward with a series of high kicks and a knee. Gouveia collapses to the floor and the referee rushes in to halt the bout. Nate Marquardt def. DAN HARDY VS. RORY MARKHAM

Round 1 - No touch of gloves as the two strikers come out. Hardy starts with a quick front kick. Markham stalks as Hardy circles to the left. Both fighters showing good movement and Markham is already bleeding from the nose. Hardy backed against the cage and Markham charges in with a big right hand. Hardy evades and counters with a perfect left hook to the jaw, dropping Markham instantly. Hardy follows to the floor for a few insurance blows, but the knockout has rendered those blows unnecessary. DIEGO SANCHEZ VS. JOE STEVENSON

Round 1 - Stevenson takes the center as Sanchez circles. Stevenson connects twice from the feet in brief exchanges. Sanchez scores with a kneee as he moves away. Stevenson pushing the pace and working inside of Sanchez's reach. Sanchez circles defensively and looks for openings while Stevenson pushes the pace forward. Sanchez scores with a series of hands, but Stevenson simply smiles. A right hand scores and Stevenson looks to shoot. Sanchez shrugs him off and backs away. Stevenson land a right hand and Sanchez answeres with a kick. Sanchez scores in the middle of a series of uppercuts. Sanchez opening up with heavy uppercuts and hooks, though most are missing their mark. Stevenson lands a knee in the clinch as we are under a minute remaining. Both land with hooks and uppercuts in flurries. Sanzhez varies the attack by bringing a knee. High-aced first round comes to a close, Stevenson busier while Sanvhez landing the heavier blows. Very close, but MMAjunkie.com sees it for Sanchez based on the effective striking.

Round 2 - Sanchez lands with a right hand, then a knee. In a scramble Sanchez grabs a guillotine then transitions to the back. Stevenson scrambles out of the hold and looks to throw Sanchez. He tosses Sanchez to the floor, though he quickly stands back up. Both look to find range, and Stevenson grabs a standing guillotine. Sanchez picks Stevenson up and slams out of the hold. Sanchez quickly grabs his own guillotine, but Stevenson slips out and escapes after a scramble. Back to the feet halfway through the round. Both miss with their hands, though Sanchez eventually sneaks in a stiff straight left. Stevenson continues to move forward, but Sanchez scores with a right hand after timing the charge. Stevenson answers with an uppercut of his own. The two trade wildly, toe-to-toe. Stevenson settling with his boxing attack while Sanchez scores with a series of kicks in addition to his hands. Another good round, but MMAjunkie.com awards it to Sanchez, 10-9.

Round 3 - The two start quickly, trading hands. Stevenson continues to push forward, though Sanchez is scoring with counter blows. Sanchez works the body, then an uppercut. Sanchez throwing heavy blows, just missing. Stevenson moves forward and slips. Sanchez allows him to rise and the two touch gloves. The pace slowing just slightly. Sanchez shoots in, but Stevenson sprawls out easily. Stevenson motions for the crowd to get involved as Sanchez drops his right hand to his waist. The jab follows several times afterwards and Sanchez continues to score as he evades Stevenson's attacks on the feet. Stevenson still content to box. One minute remains and Stevenson continues to push forward. Sanchez shoots for a single-leg. Stevenson defends and scores with a few shots before Sanchez pulls away. Sanchez misses a flyin knee as the two stand toe to toe until the final buzzer. Both fighters cheer at the conclusion of the bout. A fin fight, and MMAjunkie.com awards the close third round to Stevenson based on agression 10-9, but the fight to Sanchez, 29-28.

he reminds me of a time when I stopped watching UFC in the late mid 90's, when every fight was a 2 hour jiu jitstu/wrestling/grappler snoozefest, before they initiated the stand up / no action rules.
