Oh yea now I know who you're talking about, I don't think he's at Powerhouse anymore but its been a while since I've been there.  That Powerhouse gym in Maudlin was going down the hill last time I was there.  Its a great gym but the problem is that they don't know how to advertise it properly.  

Honestly, I would drop the franchise name and use that extra money to do local advertising.

Sadly, both of Andy's gym went down because he did not know how to advertise and he had no communication skills. The last time i was in S.C. it was called something fitness but i have a buddy who runs that car lot right across the street of that gym.

Andy also lost the one in Greer or Gaffney...been along time since i was in that state. The last time i was in state was to get my money from a lawsuit. Very bad advice.  The small mom and pop gyms are not surviving whereever there is any kind of franchised gym or large corporate gym.  Mom and pop gyms just do not get the kind of brand awareness.  Franchise fees can kill you if too high.  But, you can work out fees where they don't hurt you so bad.  Plus, you have the advantage of being able to go to other gyms within the group for either free or reduced price.  Plus, you get a lot better pricing for equipment and gym services when you have a franchise behind you.  Vince, stick with looking like you do and acting the way you do.  you are good at that.  By the way Powerhouse FF are not that high.  Maybe your buddy (i doubt you actually know him) needs to work on local marketing and promotion and spend less on the advertising.
