Andy was a good guy and me and him were always cool.  He just spent too much time hooking his friends up with free memberships and jobs.  However, the co-owner was AWOL a lot of the time and I rarely seen him...in fact I can't remember his name, just his face.  That's just how much he didn't check up on the gyms.

Andy was a real cool person but had no people skills at all and i was cool with too. The Co-owner was always cool with me and i remember his wife more the i remember him but i do know that he was from Michigan. The co-owners wife always came in and worked out but he also had a supplement shop that went under.

Because I know that people will talk a lot of shit and that gives me the motivation to train hard on those days when I don't feel like it

Vince you have prolly never done a deadlift, squat in your whole life...and judging from your condition I would venture to say you have NEVER done 5 minutes of cardio..

If it wouldn't make a difference then why do the majority of supplement, training, equipment suppliers use models on their websites?  They do it to make people think that by buying their products, then they can look like that as well.  It's the same as the big supplement companies using the top Pro's in their adverts.  Buy Product X, you too could look like Ronnie.

So, back to my question, if you put your contest pics on your website, would that inspire people to want to look like you, and therefore, buy your products?

Most of it is stock photo.  Just like the one on the front page of my website at www.caliberfitness.com

HOLY SHIT check out this on BB.com  Vince is 9% bodyfat????????

http://bodyspace.bodybuilding.com/VinceGoodrum/

Lifting Stats:

(Estimated One Rep Max)
Bench: 395 lb (179.5 kg)

Haha, bullshit. Goodrum, you have long arms, an unimpressive ribcage and your front delts, triceps and chest all look weak. I estimate your 1rm bench at about 120  kg. Could even be lower.

The thing with Melvin is that he believes in his own hype. Funny considering the floatsam here tend to laugh at him and insult the bloke in every way possible.

But will that faze Melvin? I don't think so. I mean, he will compete and show us all that he is just as capable a bodybuilder as he is a Doctor of Philosophy and a businessman who operates a website selling fitness equipment that no one buys. Someone should tell Melvin that what his Queen Vissy whispers into his ears at night about his amazing body isn't exactly the way he looks or how he is perceived by the floatsam here or elsewhere.

I offered to train Melvin in my own gym and even agreed to give him pointers on competing successfully, but like the bunch of nameless floatsam here like Goatboy, he continues to mock me rather than let me take him under my wing. Oh well, one can only try. Anyway, I just saw in the newspaper that there are a couple of funerals today in a town 400 Km from here and I might crash one of them, even if I don't know the deceased or any of the friends and family from Adam.

I swear that while reading this thread I laughed so hard I farted! Nothing like a serious Melvin Goodrum promising to compete in Munzer like condition to bring the house down.

We were wondering where Melvin had disappeared to. Now we know. He is living in bliss hidden away in the hillbilly hills of North Carolina. Lucky for him they tolerate his situation because that wasn't always so in the racist south.

I think our former Venom Vince Versace, who used to warm up the crowd at local wrestling shows and got showered with cans and rubbish, tripped on that soda bottle while going up the stairs at that Prepaid Legal Convention and hasn't been the same since. The dude used to have a thriving business and a gym membership. Since his fall he has used Pilates machines and perhaps just pushups because he presented at his last public display causing hoots of laughter from all and sundry.

Can we expect a transformed Melvin Goodrum? Nope. He has gone online to get various certificates in personal training and nutrition but still needs the advice of supplement companies to know what to do. This guy is an original and no amount of advices will dent that thick hide. We will see more of the same because what he sees in the mirror is not what we see on stage. Truly, there has never been another like our Vince Goodrum. We were proud of his last success in academia when he finally earned his coveted PhD degree in metaphysics. We wonder if he even knows what that discipline is? Some say he merely donated money to some obscure religious order to get his degree. No matter because Vince promised us he was working on another doctorate that required a thesis. Yeah, sure.

So, we await the predictable hype and amusing photos. We await his soon to be published 'Goodrum's Guide to Trademark Calves'! This guy is a net legend and hero for sure.

The thing with Melvin is that he tends to believe in his own hype. Funny considering the floatsam here tends to laugh at him and insult the bloke in every way possible.

Look, folks, Melvin Goodrum represents the wannabe and dreamer in all of us. Anyone who trains and gets reasonably large arms considers himself a bodybuilding expert and Melvin is no exception. So he belongs on Getbig and used to have more respect and authority when he posted. Someone insisted he post a photo of himself and we have all been amused ever since. The guy probably looks better than some of us has-beens and overweight guys but he is nowhere near what is respected for contest bodybuilders. Melvin obtained on line certificates and that is what those letters stand for after his Vince G handle. He calls himself Vince because he claimed he once wrestled as 'Venom Vince Versace', although there is no evidence he actually stepped in the ring. The dude was used to warm up wrestling audiences and was so effective that people threw soda bottles at him and some wrestlers hated him! So Melvin is a good talker.

He has always envied those of us with academic qualifications so found a remote religious college that granted him a PhD in exchange for a donation. Gotta love a guy who will find a shortcut instead of actually attending college and earning a degree.

Melvin had all manner of grandiose plans re a clinic or personal training studio. He swore his bank manager was licking his chops in anticipation of his getting a government loan given to minorities. Last year Melvin announced he was getting married in the fall but Keith discovered his profile on line and his relationship with a bloke in NC. Did this stop our internet legend from continuing to post on Getbig. Not at all. However, he hasn't posted as much as in previous years so we wonder how retirement is for Melvin.

There's no evidence of you winning the 1970 Mr Canada.  You should be able to name at least one competitor from the show or the judge or the venue or anything.

But you can't you old bastard.

Vince is actually right about personal training being the wave of the future.

Oh yeah, a lot trainers can charge less because they can keep all of the money the make rather than pay the gym.  And since exercise equipment doesn't use electricity, your operational cost are much better.  People are nowadays wanting more specialized and discrete training and the personal training studios offer it.

Better yet, some of them are getting their massage therapy licenses and are changing it to a wellness center. Add a small room and a table and you have an extra source of income

Melvin you are the expert when it comes to winning trophies. You know, enter a division at the last moment as long as there are not more than 2 other guys in the class. Only one other is even better, right? So why envy me when I was the only competitor in the IFBB 1970 Mr Canada show? Bob said so therefore even you don't doubt it.

I had registered early for the event so obviously there would have been no way for me to know that there would only be two people in the class.

However, at least I can NAME THAT COMPETITOR as well as the people who competed and there is an actual RECORD OF THE EVENT.

Yet, this prestigous title that you boast so much, you can't even name any of the competitors or judges and there's no record whatsoever of it even occurring.

And that was the whole point in doing it.  No-one could have possibly taken that seriously as a bodybuilding event

How easy to dismiss this Billy Guns showdown after the event. You boasted you were going to show up ripped and easily win. Even in the interview before the show you were confident and displayed your trademark calves. Little did any of us know what kind of condition you brought to the table. Clearly, only a buffoon and nincompoop would get up on stage in your pudgy condition. Too bad the Olympia organizers weren't smarter because what you and Billy presented would have been a hoot for that audience to enjoy.

The organizers of your showdown got the pretty gals to stand behind the table and even they couldn't contain  themselves and burst out laughing the whole time. First soda bottles and now rolling on the floor laughing their heads off. You should be in entertainment because you are one serious but hilarious dude.

You know, its kinda creepy for you to have taken the time to extract pictures from a video from 2006.  I bet that you have beaten off your little wrinkled penis on those pictures.

In any event, at least I don't crash people's funerals to get pictures.
