yeah whatever happened to joining a gym and being given a free program? that should be mandatory.

They don't anymore because the gyms want you to pay for the personal trainers service so they can make more money off of you.

Everywhere I go and from my experience from working at a gym, people have always told me that they never signed up for a membership simply because once the gym got their membership money they didn't care about them anymore and didn't help them out with anything.

I still give free training programs however gyms apparantly now have..."nutritional analysis" for 500 dollars which is stupid considering that its computer generated

I remember when I first competed. It was thought it was a good experience to get up and pose. Well, I don't agree because not placing is never a good experience. Guys like Goodrum don't deserve praise for enterring a Junior contest at 30 years of age. The guy has certificates for personal training and nutrition yet presents like an intermediate guy you see by the millions in gyms all over the world. Sure, I don't discourage anyone from training to improve themselves or get stronger, etc. However, competition is not for everyone and sometimes we see guys in posing trunks who should never be there. It is a bit like listening to awful Karaoke singers who entertain because they are so bad. Goodrum is a borderline bodybuilder. He looks okay in a T-shirt because he has reasonably big arms. Come to think about it, he has some of the longest arms ever seen on a human. That is another story. Guys like Arvilla and Goodrum have discovered that they disappear when they start getting rid of bulk for contests. The once big muscles evaporate and I guess Melvin feared losing too much size so he enterred with perhaps 15% bodyfat. That is never going to impress the judges or spectators. From the painful look on Goodrum's face while posing it is clear he wasn't going too well or perhaps people were laughing in the audience.

Goodrum claims he has abdominals showing in the images seen in this thread. Yes, one and a half rows of abs. That is pre 1960 good enough but not post 2000 condition. Goodrum should know that. All I can say is Melvin is a dreamer or perhaps he really does have poor vision and cannot discern his bodyfat levels clearly. I suppose guys like that listen to friends and mates and get praise instead of accurate assessments. I mean, how many years does this guy have to enter contests before he will gain some acceptance here on Getbig? We all can predict the answer.

Yes, pre 1960.....before steroids and clen was in place.  I actually consider that a complement as some of the best bodybuilders were from that era such as Bill Pearl, Armand Tanny, George Eiferman, Clancy Ross, Reg Park....etc.

Unlike you, I didn't have to pop 50mg of dianabol a day to win a show.  Honestly, you're a fucking hypocrite Basile.  You talk shit about Chick using boatloads of steroids when you yourself used them to win the Mr Canada.

I would not give you .50 cents for a nutritional analysis.... ::)  Seriosuly Vince WHY are you trying to train people and give them advice.  Has the old saying "practice what you preach " EVER crossed your mind.  NO one in there right mind would ask you for advice...

You wouldn't have to even give me .50 cents for a nutritional analysis.  The software for that only cost 400 dollars so I actually did that for free.  Entering in people's basic body details doesn't quantify charging 500.00 for it.  Its another reason why I always had a lot of clients when I was working at the gyms

And I've always practiced what I preached, I stay in good shape year round and I treat all of my clients like family which is why I was successful while others were not.  With the money I made I was able to start Caliber Fitness Solutions.

Yup. You do stay in good shape Vince, just not competition shape. Surely you must realise that? Oh, and do take it as a derogatory remark, it's not meant to be.

I'm still amazed he could actually walk onstage in front of people in that condition. I wouldn't walk around the house w/my shirt off if I looked that bad.  ???

I don't want to rag on Vince at all. I think he is living his life far better and open than most here. He may look like shit, but at least he has the guts to step onto a stage. I just wish he wouldn't  :o

Actually I don't look like shit.  I've been using ALR supplements since the event and things have changed a great deal since then.  That's why I'm looking forward to competing again because when people see me, they are to realize that what you hear about me on the internet isn't reality.

I took 2 Dianabol tablets for 2 months. That is 10 mg per day. I didn't end up with boobs like you did when you mixed up your vet steroid home brew. Chick won't state his drug protocols and he won't help get drug testing in the IFBB. Chick is the hypocrite. Besides, Rusty Jeffers was better that Chick but placed the proverbial 8th.

And you have the right to say who's going to be succesful in the IFBB????  I think they were saying the same thing about Dexter Jackson he's Mr Olympia.

And as far as I'm concerned, you won a small regional show....big deal.

You used steroids to win your title and you have the nerve to criticize others including Chick for using them.  Doesn't matter how much or how little, you still were a juicer and you owe your one lousy title to using steroids.......period.

And Rusty should have came in sharper at the morning show.  Otherwise he wouldn't have had 7 other people beat him.  Rusty has already stated that he wasn't in his best condition at the show.

Chick is the Masters World Champion....deal with it old man.
