I did call Melvin at his hotel when he was at the Olympia for the Billy Guns showdown. I asked if he needed any money because he said he was using coupons, etc., for food. He said he didn't need any help. He didn't feel like talking because I think he had someone there with him. So I do support underdogs and Goodrum is certainly that. Not in his mind, of course, and therein lies the mirth that keeps Keith and me responding to Melvin's posts. Same old, same old. No matter what anyone says about Melvin he is a character. Remember that audio clip he used to have on Caliber Fitness? That was a hoot.
To Stunt Movie. Remember Eddie the hero from England in the ski jumping event at the Olympics? The guy came last but did represent England in that event. So I never stop anyone who is fair dinkum from enterring bodybuilding contests. There are no rules about who can enter most shows. However, some contests cut out the lower placing contestants in the prejudging and we don't see them at the evening show.
Most bodybuilding shows are rather boring events. When some serious wannabe like Goodrum shows up doing the fancy posing but without the physique to suit it can be interesting. Such guys do entertain. I would hate to see an end to these exhibitions. Contests are a good way to get motivated and so everyone should be able to enter. Organizers don't mind, either, because every contestant brings some supporters and the more in the audience the better.
As a gym owner I have seen many guys dream about winning shows or bench pressing 400 pounds. Few ever achieve these goals but I don't discourage anyone from trying to win a show or get stronger. If you take those dreams from people they lose the motivation to train.
About so called stalking Goodrum and others. I find it ironical that guys like Danielson have an agenda against Keith and me and keeps targeting us. That is a form of stalking, too. Keith and I are just amusing ourselves and Getbig and Goodrum gives back as good as he gets so doesn't need any help or protecting.
