Iphone. i can get emails on my Iphone for FREE.
Another thing to consider... how easy is it to install software on a blackberry?
It can't get any easier than with Iphone  and Itunes.

My friend showed me his Iphone today.  How fucking cool!  It has a driving thing where you drive a race car.  And Google Earth is unreal on it.  Better than my laptop.

Why?

bb was developed for business (even thougn now is trying to go a bit more public), if anybody here recommending iphone over a blackberry for business purpose just because it is more "beautiful" and more "storage" and "nice screen" then you really dont need to ask here.

BB use java apps, that means, you can get them running under any os, and those saying iphone is pretty "fast" oh brother...that means they know nothing because the processor @ the bb is 4 mhz faster :)

as i said, for business, connectivity with business apps, blackberry, to look like a fucking idiot who just want to show the newest mobile phone out, iphone.

Side note, you really cant believe a person's oppinion that consider google earth's looks better in iphone that a box with a gpu card, broadband, etc, right? :)

Yeah.  Hard not to be intrigued by all the "fun" stuff on the iPhone.

Thanks for the info.  I've talked to several people, including a couple people who have used both.  They all prefer the iPhone and they're all in business.  One person has the Bold because it's too hard to type on the iPhone and she sends a lot of e-mail.  She said she would have the iPhone if not for the e-mail issues.  That's a major drawback for me too, but someone told me he got used to it pretty quickly.

I also heard the iPhone battery doesn't last for more than a day.

You know my comment sometimes might not be the correct one for a normal user, because i look at "systems" in a differente way, the usefull & correct way i would say. This is like when you ask someone "hey which cpu are you getting for your laptop" and the reply is "I need a 2.2 CORE 2 DUO 800MHZ man because i run A LOT of programs, excel outlook winamp internet explorer skype..." and they give you an extensive list which in the end, is nothing! and a difference of even 1 ghz wont really give any change, yes, programs will probably run faster but...you as user wont really notice the ms difference.

When i talk about correct & usefull use of "systems", reffer to you friend that sends a "lot of email". These gadgets were made for connectivity, no doubt, but from that to write a poem in your spare time to send to a friend just because you are bored, then sure, any keyboard is gonna sux.

Also think about this, most emails you receive in your mobile, are like, "order went fine" "tomorrow a meeting" "we have problems, are you coming here?" and stuff that is not REALLY important to fix it in the exact moment, so, instead of writting a long answer and wasting your time while you are at it, you could just have saved some default answers, then just pick the one you want and reply like "ok" "call you later"...

Not sure if you get the idea, but a correct way to decide what are you gonna buy is to ask yourself a simple question: "Do i really need all of these features?" "Do i really need the faster processor out?" "Do i really need 10gb ram or 2 will be enough for me?"

In the end, you end paying more for something that you thought it would be for you, but it isnt.

I hear you.  Good advice.  I've been doing that (asking what's most important and what I need vs. want).

I had a Sidekick and I could type really fast on that.  Even my Voyager I could type fast.  I have some Samsung now that is really cool cause it has the full keyboard just smaller.  But I want the iPhone so will be getting that soon.

I friggen hate cell phones but I broke down and bought an iphone. Yeah the keyboard takes alot of getting used to...but the 3g net is fast and connects pretty easy even without full bars. The battery life is fine and adding apps is easy. I'm sure the other phone has its good points. I like the iphone.

i have over a thousand songs on my iphone and also use it for my business all the time------the navigation is great, especially when Im in different vehicles all day

it does so many different things, Ive always had blackberries but their interface annoyed me, plus the support you get from itunes (patches, updates etc) makes getting the iphone worth it alone

a little advice though------many people dont think they need or would want the larger memory Iphone but GET IT, its worth the money

I haven't gotten into the song part yet.  I'm still in the 20th Century (listening to CDs).  I'm the only person in my house that doesn't have an  ipod.  I don't even know how those things work.

Apple's iPhone Flops in Japan, Now Sold for Free

Friday, February 27, 2009

Apple's iPhone is a hit everywhere in the world — except for Japan.

It turns out that Apple's video-playing, music-downloading, motion-sensing handset is just too, well, backward for the Japanese market.

In fact, the iPhone is such a flop in the Land of the Rising Sun that it's being given away free with a 2-year contract, Wired News reports.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that carrier charges are a lot cheaper in Japan than they are in the U.S., and Apple hasn't learned to compete.

Few Japanese want to pay $60 per month to use a phone that can't shoot video, receive TV signals or text-message photos.

"The pricing has been completely out of whack with market reality," one expert on the Japanese cell-phone market tells Wired News. "I think they [Apple and its partners overseas] are in the process of adjusting to local conditions."

Japanese "hate" for iPhone all a big mistake
By Prince McLean

A report intending to portray the iPhone as "hated" in the Japanese market turns out to have been built upon fake quotations from industry writers and observers who were misrepresented by remarks attributed to them that they never made. Their actual comments on the iPhone's prospects in Japan are far more interesting.

A Wired article by Brian X Chen intended to correlate Softbank's new promotional pricing for the iPhone in Japan with a national hatred of the device that left it without any buyers. To write the article, Chen contacted Nobi Hayashi, a journalist in Japan who has frequently written on the smartphone market, to ask for his comments. While Hayashi presented an extensive and interesting reply, his feedback did not show up in the article...

MELINDA GATES: I WANT APPLE PRODUCTS
BUT HUBBY BILL SAYS THEY'RE BANNED

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has banned all Apple products from his home -- but doesn't mean his wife doesn't still crave an iPhone.

In an interview in the current issue of Vogue magazine, Melinda Gates said that there are "very few things that are on the banned list in our household. But iPods and iPhones are two things we don't get for our kids."

She also admitted to be intrigued by the iPhone, which combines a touch-screen music player and Web browser with a fully-functioning mobile phone.

"Every now and then I look at my friends and say, 'Ooh, I wouldn't mind having that iPhone'," she said.

Gates has stepped down from his role as CEO of Microsoft, the company he co-founded with Paul Allen, in order to concentrate on the philanthropic work carried out by his charitable organization, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Last month, Gates let loose a swarm of mosquitoes to highlight the dangers of malaria.

"Malaria is spread by mosquitoes," he yelled to the crowd before unleashing the insects, which were not carrying the disease. "I brought some. Here, I'll let them roam around. There is no reason only poor people should be infected."
