B- for jindal's content.

Really, the bio on obama was unnecessary.  He droned on and on.  He could have used that time to kick the stim package in the balls and deliver a better solution.

maybe he doesnt have one.

bacon bits,

Are those soy?

What brand name imitation meats do you think tastes best?

Would reading the China Study make me cry?  No details please.

Thanks for all this info Beach!

Why couldn't you?
Felt sick - couldn't concentrate on what he was saying - plus Nancy Pelosi was freaking me out.  Can't pinpoint why.  I think it was the fish.

Dude, I know!!!  It wasn't just the fish, you're being way too generous.  Having to stare at Biden's & Pelosi's mugs (especially Pelosi's) in the background during Obama's entire speech was distracting to say the least.  Ewwwwww.  And the way she did her cheesy, smiley, happy-happy drama queen introduction before Obama's speech...  Ewwwww again.  That came across as even more patronizing than Jindal's alleged "Mr. Rogers" bit.  Dang that woman grates on my nerves.

No problem . . . (I was going to say mang.  What's the female equivalent?).

I'm not sure what the bacon bits are made out of.  Could be soy, but I'm not sure.  It's the regular kind you find on the shelf that isn't made from real bacon.

I think Worthington makes the best products.  http://www.seeveggiesdifferently.com/products.aspx?coid=23|59|59&family=363|634|675

That's the brand we use most often.  Here is what I had last night (the chicken strips I mentioned):
http://www.seeveggiesdifferently.com/product_detail.aspx?family=366&id=4971

You can usually find these in the frozen foods section at any store (Safeway, Foodland, etc.).

Not sure if The China Study will make you cry,  :D, but it will challenge what you've been taught about diet your entire life.  I know you don't want details, but one of the things I learned is that doctors get almost no training in nutrition, so they really aren't in the best position to give us advice about diet.

One more detail (sorry):  I gave up dairy because of the link between dairy and prostate cancer, and my dad had prostate cancer (among other things).  Okay one more . . . there is also a link between dairy and juvenile diabetes.  And who guess who sponsors juvenile diabetes campaigns here?  Meadow Gold (milk manufacturer).

But I encourage you to read it.  It is well written and, unlike many "science" books, it's an easy read.

Obama gets an A for style (as usual) and a D for content.  He doesn't get it:  Big Brother is not the answer to all of our problems.

I'd give Jindal a C for style and A for content.   He gets it:  Big Brother is not the answer to all of our problems.

I'd love to see Jindal become more of a national figure.

Isn't David Brooks a conservative?

He doesn't seem very impressed with the content of Jindals speech

Tom Delay denied Brooks was a conservative.  Because he had the audacity to say Jindal's speech wasn't all that great.

Brooks is a traditional conservative

Delay is NeoCon, a criminal and a thug

the Rep platform has been hijacked and their only hope of survival is to take it back

I think this witchhunt of Pelosi is starting to go a little too far.

Being 'freaked out' by looking at her?

Critisize her politics and not her looks.

That whole bay area rat story is another example - turned out to be totally false and just a smearing campaign.

Gotta be fair with her like with anyone else.

I actually think she is quite pretty.  I told you it must have been the fish!   And politically, no, I do not agree w/her on many issues.

"maybe I've just forgotten what limited government looks like since no Republican (including Reagan) has ever actually done it".

Well, Reagan had his hands completely full after Carter so he did some deficit spending but he really turned the economy around by his programs and tax cuts (real tax cuts for people and for business).  Seems Obama is following in Carter's footsteps and we'll need a conservative to cut back the overbearing gov that Obama is creating.  Otherwise, I agree with you.  Seems like power corrupts everyone who takes control.  Bush 2 and Obama have been horrible with expanding the size of gov.

This budget proposal of his is a complete disaster.  I dont want to hear the name GWB ever again after what Obama has done just in the last month.

He has dwarfed everything BUSH did by many multipliers already.

True.  Anyone who faulted Bush for excessive spending needs to look at whats going on here because Obama is spending on another level.
He may cut the budget in the second half of his term but that is after 2-3 trillion is spent on his projects and bailouts this year.  Working people will have to pay for this...thats what people are ignoring.

Obama is the biggest liar and fraud I have seen in my lifetime.

In one month he literally triples the deficit and then claims to want to cut it in half.

Please, he is spending on levels not even LBJ did.

Give it up.  Face the facts, your socialist messiah makes GWB look like a cheap date with WTF he is doing.

A Trillion in new welfare spending and bs tax credits.
410 billion in spending (8% increase in discretionary spending)
643 billion in health care
1 Billion to Gaza

Dont talk to me ever about GWB again.  Obama is a spendthrift and doing cocaine again at the pace is spending every, their children, and their childrens' childrens' money.

no joke man - you rant and rave like someone who is off their med's

I am just as suprised as anyone that Obama wants to cut the budget deficit by the end of his first term.  That's an ambitious goal given the spending he's proposing.  Let's not forget that he's going to include the wars in Iraq and Afganistan in the budget so maybe he figures his 2012 budget deficit will be half of this years based on spending much less in Iraq.

Either way, I'm willing to wait and see some results rather than foam at the mouth like you do on a daily basis on this site

Some deficit spending?

You realize that Carter balanced the budget.

And Reagan did not?

Regardless of what you may think of Carter, I think you perhaps should revise your opinion of Reagan's economic policies.

Reagan got USA into the constant deficit budget spiral.

He continued the deficit budgets even when the economy was running well.

That's totally irresponsible.
