Are those soy?
What brand name imitation meats do you think tastes best?
Would reading the China Study make me cry? No details please.
Thanks for all this info Beach!
No problem . . . (I was going to say mang. What's the female equivalent?).
I'm not sure what the bacon bits are made out of. Could be soy, but I'm not sure. It's the regular kind you find on the shelf that isn't made from real bacon.
I think Worthington makes the best products.

That's the brand we use most often. Here is what I had last night (the chicken strips I mentioned):

Not sure if The China Study will make you cry,
, but it will challenge what you've been taught about diet your entire life. I know you don't want details, but one of the things I learned is that doctors get almost no training in nutrition, so they really aren't in the best position to give us advice about diet.
One more detail (sorry): I gave up dairy because of the link between dairy and prostate cancer, and my dad had prostate cancer (among other things). Okay one more . . . there is also a link between dairy and juvenile diabetes. And who guess who sponsors juvenile diabetes campaigns here? Meadow Gold (milk manufacturer).
But I encourage you to read it. It is well written and, unlike many "science" books, it's an easy read.
