If you get on stage, compete in the NPC in prejuding and the finals, and get a placing, in my book, you are a competitor.  Simple as that.

You have entered the ranks of competition bodybuilding.

Now, whereas you are in good shape or so-so shape, that is up to you, but yes, Vince Goodrum is a competitor.

You may not like it, but he does have something over some of us here.

Competing doesn't mean competitive, LOL!

If you want to hand out "competitor" stars to make people feel good, that's totally cool but sort of disrespectful towards people who actually have a chance at winning or becoming pros.

I don't dislike Vince personally and this comment isn't aimed directly at him but without a ton of effort we can probably name ten regular posters that are in better shape day in, day out than Vince's contest pics. That statement doesn't just apply to him, LOL!

Saying anyone who's placed qualifies for competitor stars is just kind of silly, IMO.

I swear he's been mixing crack in with the royal jelly, LOL!

Dude's convinced the past failures were due to meal timing, spilling over, not dialing in, planets not aligned, cortisol levels, bad judging, cramps, posing needed more work, peaking too soon, not enough juice, too much protein from the tap, carb loading, and every other bullshit excuse people have.

The real question is; why does he need so much attention to complete the delusion?

I dont beleive he trains or diets full stop..He enjoys attention no matter how bad it is..the guy looks like utter crap and most deff does not train with weights..The only prep he does is shoping for a posing thong and laying in a tub of posing oil before getting on stage to make an idiot of himself..

They really shouldnt let people with obvious mental retardation compete .

agreed, regardless of what you look like or what people think of you, the second you step on stage and "actually" do a show you belong to a list of people that actually went through with the act of doing a "show" and not just talk about it.

Doing a show doesn't mean someone is competitive, LOL! He would have won the class if the other guy wasn't there yet still looked like hell. I looked like hell at my show too, LOL!

The opinion has nothing to do with him, merely that the act of doing a show doesn't necessarily mean someone should get special recognition. No idea how many people here do shows but have seen some 'competitor' pics and there's no way many of them didn't look like total ass.

being a competitor and being competitive are 2 completely different things, i just think that people that actually go on and do a show deserve "some" amount of respect, at least they get that from me.

True and I've argued that all along. Thing is... a few of the people here are competitive and may earn a pro card at some point. Putting them in the same category as hobbyists that happen to pay an entrance fee makes no sense.

Should a fat chick from my gym compete as a heavyweight, alone in her class get the same stars as Rip, Beast, Jodels, etc?

Should a 135 LB twink that happens to be the skinniest one at a powerlifting contest be put in Jason Pegg's class?

I just believe it's silly to give the distinction purely based upon competing.  :)

Right on Ron...However I must ask, why did it take well over a year after Vince's 2nd competition for him to get his stars?
