That's actually an interesting question. Most "politically correct" people like to say that men dominate over women and don't give them any room. I would say it could also be that women have a tendency to be submissive, biologically speaking. In the natural order of things, if there is such, women are inclined to be submissive and men dominant. We see the same pattern in many other species were the roles also can be reversed.
