There's nothing really to say about "what's he like" because he walks through the expo floor and if you're not working one of the booths he happens to stop at your chance of getting a picture with him is slim to none. Although, you may shake his hand and say hi as he's walking through.

He's very talkative after a few beers and friendly with a crowd.  When I met him he spent pretty much the whole night telling us these long stories that never seemed to reach a conclusion, and he takes really long pauses so everyone thinks he's done, but if someone pipes up with "Anyway..." or "Did you ever..." he starts up again, and you can't tell if it's the same story continuing or a whole new one.  He leans back in his chair and looks up at the ceiling a lot while talking too, which is pretty funny because then everyone else starts glancing up there to see what he's staring at.  He tends to be very animated while telling a story and makes large hand gestures, and sometimes when a story seems to be winding down he'll bang both hands on the table and crack up laughing and say, "I'll tell you a funny story."

The year was 1969. I was a fifteen year old bodybuilder from Nor Cali. The family was in L.A. for a few days visiting my dad's side of the family, as we did a couple times a year for the holidays. While in town, I asked my dad to drop me off at Gold's gym in Venice while they went sightseeing. Back then the "mecca" of bodybuilding was magical.

I remember seeing Arnold, Zane, Draper, Frank Richards, Franco, Zabo, Ed Giuliani, Serge Jacobs, Bill Pettis and others. I got autographs from all the above. Everyone was very cordial, professional, and a gentleman.

I was sitting quietly by a wall in the gym, a safe distance from the action just mesmerized at the scene that I was witnessing. Suddenly Arnold calls out to me from across the gym as polite as can be and says; "Excuse me, do you have a sister?" I replied no. Arnold then says; "The reason I ask is because a girl came in here earlier to whom you bear a striking resemblance, so I thought that you might be her younger brother." (or words to that effect) Then he says; "Oh! But she was a good looking girl!" (ha ha). Arnold was nevertheless respectable to me as a young kid, even in unassuming conversation.

That Arnold. Just goes to show you. He must have been staking out pussy 24/7.

Too bad you didn't have a sister.  Now that would be a story.

I'm sure Keith Jones hangs with Arnold on a regular basis.  The guy knows everybody!  I mean, he even sat next to Jonsey from Police Academy at a charity event in 1992!
