One minute, liberals whine about the GOP not having black people in its ranks. Then, they turn right around and call people like Steele "tokens", just as they did with Rice, Powell, Thomas, etc.

whatever the outcome, the man has showed he has no balls, no independent streak.  just another in the line of crowned "answers to obama" that end up being exposed as frauds the minute you put them in front of a mic without a script.

I don`t care about the melanin content in his skin.  I think he does and its awkward watching him trying to tap into various cultures and memes hoping to broaden the Republican base when it is historically against the same type of culture.

It comes off as totally ersatz.

I like him.  Don't agree on everything but I like him. 

The republican party is not the white male party....that may have been the case for part of its more recent history but the core principle of limited government is attractive to many.  The republican party is making more attempts to be inclusive and needs to remind everyone its core principles are color blind.  They also need to denounce the very small minority of the party that is set in the past or have racist views.  The far right and far left both have its share of undesireables. 
Most democrats create entitlements and 'market' to poor minorities.  Entitlements and big government are attractive to lesser income minorities but as more and more continue to climb the economic ladder, they see bigger government is not better government and entitlements sometimes hold people back from persuing opportunities for self advancement.
