I think the dow will see gains again tomorrow. People wanted to hear buffet say the economy will improve and he did. So now is the time to buy those stocks while they're cheap. I don't know why everyone is freaking out about this recession, this has happened many times before, things will obviously get better. If you want to make money then don't be a pussy and invest into green energy company stocks and then sit back and relax for 5 years.

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett says the US economy has "fallen off a cliff" and warns that inflation may accompany a rebound.

Buffett told CNBC television that US economic developments were close to the worst case he had imagined and said recovery would not happen fast.

The United States recently reported a 25-year high for unemployment and stocks have plunged to 12-year lows.

"People are confused and scared," he said.

Six months ago Buffet described the economic environment as an "economic Pearl Harbour", referring to the surprise attack in 1941 which spurred the US to join the war.

But Buffet said during his interview on Monday that the current economic climate is at the worse end of the scale he expected.

I would say a pretty good guess is just that Obama is black and you feel that you identify with him.

Had you been so into politics prior to Obama taking office, you would have been posting all over (the G & O would be the place I see it, I don't do the Pol. Board) about Bush- positive or negative.

The market reacted to Citibank and Bernanke giving a speach this AM. Still, we are down 2500 points since Obama won the election. The Dow is down 32 percent since his election on Nov. 4, 2008 and 18 percent since his inauguration (based on #s 3/9/09). His policies are clearly not friendly to business and he is spending us into uncharted levels of national debt. When we come out of this recession, we'll have massive debt to pay back and potential inflation and devaluation of the currency. I also blame Bush for unsupervised TARP 1 funds.

You look at the market daily for quick reactions and monthly to see trends. Obama has only been president for approx 7 weeks but he has been very active in Washington since November, when he was elected. Markets make predictions and they predicted an unfriendly environment to business once he was elected. From 9625 on Nov 4th to below 6900.

Or perhaps the president does not control everything. The global economic meltdown we're seeing now happened due to many factors a lot of which go way back. Obama has a very marginal influence at best.

Anyone with half a brain (you'd have to have half a brain to be still invested in this market) is going to sell asap tomorrow -- cut their losses and sell on the bump -- and it's going to drop lower than yesterday.

...my guess is that it'll start leveling at around 5k...sit around there for 6 months to a year, then slowly grow over the next 5 years. 'till the next bubble.

...that is, if Obama and all the extremists (left and right) don't fuck us all first.
