Col. Al is one deadly mofo.  His skill level is insane.    That is the one dude I have met that I have no doubt I would not stand a chance against unless I have a gun from at leat 20 feet out.  

Its a great class BTW - and Perkins and Col. Al give the real deal no nosense information you need.  

I took both TMA and GJJ before this and those are nothing compared to this.  GJJ is ok and great for ground stuff, but not the best for the street.  

TMA is very limited.

This stuff is just on another level.

Please ask your instructor if he's ever heard of David James and VAJ?  I'd be curious to see what he says.  Col. Al should be aware of him since he is based out of Brooklyn as well.  I'd put David James and VAJ up against "attackproof" and Col. Al any day of the week.  Plus I don't have much respect for anyone that teaches self defense and considers themselves a fighter when they have a big ass gut like that guy on the website.

Col. Al trains hand to hand combat to our marines and was hired to train iraqi soldiers CCQ in Iraq.

Professor David James is 50+ years old as well and in peak physical conditioning.  There is no excuse to have a big ass gut like that when you are teaching street self defense.  That guy would die of a heart attack if he was attacked by a group of teenage girls.  Self Defense doesn't stop because you put in your time and paid your dues and are getting "older".  If that's his attitude that pokes holes in his credibility in my opinion.   
Anyways, I encourage you to check out VAJ and Professor David James school just for variety.......He offers Brooklyn and Manhattan classes.
