So this morning I was reading the replies to Bob's appreciation thread and while I was on my way back from the bathroom, i stubbed my pink tow on my computer chair bottom.  It looks like it cracked the nail all the way almost to the root!  Should I rip it off or lit it sit there.  Looks like it is going to have blood fill the space and turn black and blue, I am so scared!  HELP Please anyone who has done this before, I have never lost a nail  :-\

i've lost nails a few times.  give it a few hours to reduce swelling with ice.  use nail clippers to poke hole to drain blood if you can, it can get all septic and kill ya if you let it sit under the skin.  if you lose the nail, no problem, it'll grow back in 6 months.  it'll never look the same tho.

wow man this is horrible  :-[  Thx for being a friend with me when times are tough, I looked down and couldn't believe it cracked like from the skin just from a stub!  I am so weak now.  Will go to sleep and then take it off before I shower.

I know it is weird, when I stub my toe it usually don't happen, I must have hit it in just the right place for it to happen, I still haven't teared it off, waiting so maybe the blood loss will be less catasrophic.

Hey guys a little update for the ones who have been keeping me in there prayers.  Today at 6:32pm, est time I removed the nail, phone by my side and ready to call 911 incase of me bleeding to death.  Thanks fully with the power of your guys prayers, I didn't not bleed one drop.  The nail is gone and now the recovering process starts...
