One of many reasons why I don't view bbing as a sport
« on: March 12, 2009, 10:34:42 AM »
There are many of course but this is a big one.  I would never be embarassed to take a friend/gf/family member to a basketball, hockey, or baseball game or for that matter even a WWE event, but I would be extremely embarassed to take someone to a bodybuilding contest.

Shows insecurity on your part if you feel embarassed especially in front of your close ones.

Often when my friends or gf are over I might throw in a Nasser video or something of the sort.  Nothing to be embarassed about.

i figure i listen to my friends and families music, even when i dont like it. i watch their favorite tv shows, even when i dont like it. i listen to them talk about stuff that i dont give a shit about it.  so they can watch some olympia videos and listen to me talk about bodybuilding.

You should turn around and call them homos for being insecure in their sexuality to not be able to appreciate the natural male desire to add muscle.  But you can't, oh yeah, because you are insecure yourself...so keep hiding it from them and being embarassed  :-\

Insecure or not, you're not exactly doing yourself a favor by letting everyone know that you are in to bodybuilding.

maybe it depends on what you look like. if you obviously workout, or if no one would guess you ever stepped foot in a gym.

BBing is not a sport.

But that is not important.

No matter what they say, you build big muscle and cut it up.

Thats bodybuilding.

Depends. Most people are very judgmental at bodybuilders at least where I live.

Not to derail the discussion, but from my observation 99% of all the muscular guys are the most boring to hang around with at clubs or bars. They usually just stand around in a corner hoping that their muscles will attract the chicks while the 140 pound skinny fat douche with charisma gets them instead.

By definition I think it is a sport, no doubt a gay one.

Well put Kyomu.

And lovemonkey, I agree you can't just stand in the corner with muscles and expect to get chicks at clubs.  When I was in shape and not fat like now, I could just hang out and get some girls attention but it is def better to mingle and approach girls.  Best thing would be to be in shape and be charismatic.

It's not a 'sport', but I LOVE this shit.

I enjoy watching it, talking about it, reading and writing about it, lifting and eating clean, etc.

I love the fact that so few people - relative to other things like basketball or golf - are into bodybuilding, because it makes it that much more special to me.  The people that I hang out with are really passionate about bodybuilding and that's the type of environment where everyone can thrive.

Just my opinion.

i think your not understanding themuscular guys. it may seem like they are just sitting back and hoping for a gril to come up to them - but alot of big guys just dont give a fuck...are happy just being alone and watching people be people.

calfzilla meet kh300.

i remember at my old apartment i used to have a poster of ronnie and arnold,, when people looked at the arnold one they were like ''that dudes jacked'' then when they looked at the ronnie one they would call me a fag for having that on my wall.. i had to take ronnie down..

call me a homophobe or whatever you want,,but you wont catch me watching too many bodybuilding shows. dudes twirling around in thongs is not something i want to look at. i like watching them train, but striated glutes is not my thing. with the bigger posing trunks they used to wear, it makes bodybuilding look like an artform.. when you have a thong wedged up your asshole is more like gay porno.
