H-D's were a symbol of freedom, it started decades ago. It's is just a part of american culture.
Most of the people you see on H-D's are rich doctors, or lawyers that like to play tough guy after work, nowadays tho.

I kind of got that message playing as Johnny Klebitz in GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned, but that doesn`t explain the bodybuilder to motorcycle link.
