I remember a Muscle & Fitness article about him, saying he tore one of his quads while walking into a bathroom at a b-ball game.
Claimed that his leg was almost back to it's original pre-tear form- but I don't think I ever saw him place anything higher than top 10 in the Ironman after I read that article, which would have been around '98-99.
